Rather a cute drama. Perhaps due to the only 16 episodes, the romance between the lead characters was hurried too much, despite them not really having anything in common that would really bind them. Chemistry had not been developed yet.
In fact, the tsundere male lead had not really been able to give his worst as the bog-standard gorgeous arrogant male leads in idol-dramaland. He had not ‘tortured’ the female lead enough yet. 🙂
By episode two, he was already into her and I don’t really get that. She is pretty but, she had yet to show why she’s different from the other girls and women around him.
Anyway, the story was that Ling Xun Xun used to be the belle in university. She was not only beautiful, but she was also quite clever as well.
But after uni, she did not go to work but wedded her boyfriend.
She did everything for the marriage, really worked on it and they had a beautiful boy to show for it.
But then she found out that her husband was cheating on her.
She asked for a quick divorce with no alimony, therefore she cannot afford to keep her son, so the custody fell on her ex-husband.
She was still mulling the enormity of her current situation at age 29, divorced and not having custody of her son when bad luck (or luck?) would have it that she crashed into a very expensive car driven by Cheng Li.
Cheng Li, gave her his card to contact his assistant.
Xun Xun has the bestest of best friends. She is Zhou Quan, who took in the homeless, jobless Xun Xun. She supported and protected Xun Xun. She also sent Xun Xun’s CV to job vacancies.
It turned out that the job Zhou Quan send her CV to was a cosmetic company where Cheng Li is the young CEO at just age 23.
Cheng lI would not employ her at first because she does not have the right image for the company (she was dowdy) and not only that she had never held a proper job in her life.
But Xun Xun was so desperate for a job. She wanted to earn money not only to pay for the cost of Cheng Li’s car repair but most importantly, she wanted to get custody back of her son.
Xun Xun did everything to get the job. She was fully prepared to cast away any semblance of dignity and inhibition. She did everything except sell her body.
At last Cheng Li gave her a chance and she became his 24/7 slave. She moved into his mansion and did the cleaning and preparing his food. She was also his driver and his PA at work.
Then enter, the equally gorgeous Hui Yiwnag, a CEO of another company who they courted to do business with. As soon as he showed interest in Xun Xun, Cheng Li started being possessive of her too.
