Quick Precis
Liu Ying was forced into married to Ling Qi Ye by her foster brother. She did everything to get out of the marriage but to no avail.
She then realised eventually that her new husband was not as bad as she had imagined. So she ended up falling for him and he with her.
Episode 1
This is such a cute start. Cavan Wen and Amy Sun are gorgeous together. Usually this kind of drama is rather tedious but Amy Sun, as always, is rather adorable just like in Accidentally in Love.
Anyway, it was her wedding night where she poisoned her husband. She then ran away but not fast enough because she was found by her husband’s guards.
The groom she poisoned was only a proxy.
Her real husband, Ling Qi Ye, was gorgeous but got overheated in the spa, and he fainted.
Liu Ying dressed as a physician so she could leave the mansion and was taken where LIng Qi Ye was.
Liu Ying did not know that he was her real husband but noticed how gorgeous he was as she runs her finger into his naked torso.
He woke up and asked who she was. She told him that she was the doctor and gave him a pill which was poison.
He went into a dead faint again at the count of three. She was rather regretful because he is gorgeous but then he pull her to him and kissed her. Transferring the pill into her mouth.
She was now the one who was poisoned.
Episode 2
Ling Qi Ye realised that the marriage arrangement with the Zhou family was just a cover to bring down his Xuling Manor.
Poor Liu Ying was already in a coffin ready for burial when she suddenly made such a racket inside the coffin.
She was alive but fainted again.
She was brought to her room and Ling Qi Ye was next to her when she came to. She mistook him for the physician so he let her think that he was.
His assistant turned up with Liu Ying’s bag. Immediately Liu Ying got up to take it but Ling Qi Ye was faster and grabbed it. The bag fell on the floor with its contents revealed. There were a few vials of poisons and books on 100 Ways To Kill Your Husband.
Liu Ying took imbibed the pills to prove that they were not poison. She then fainted again.
Meanwhile, Ling Qi Ye read through the books but it turned out it was more of a diary where she recorded that the poison given to her by her foster brother, Zhou Han was replaced by her sleeping pills. She reckoned that as she does not have any gripes with Ling Qi Ye, so she does not really have a reason to kill him.
Episode 3
Aww, I totally recommend this mini-drama, the leads are just the cutest.
Anyway, Liu Ying plotted several ways to leave the manor but she was unsuccessful each time.
She still had not realised that the physician is her husband Ling Qi Ye.
She told him though that she was not trying to escape, she was just bored and wanted to explore outside.
Ling Qi Ye told her that it was nearing the Dragon Boat Festival, he will arrange for her to go out.
Liu Ying wanted to know if she will see Ling Qi Ye at the festival.
Episode 4
Liu Ying finally found out that the physician was Ling Qi Ye, her husband.
He agreed to take her out but she overheard him telling his friend that when he felt her pulse, he knew that she doesn’t have much time to live.
Episode 5
Ling Jin Yu was shocked but Ling Qi Ye clarified that he was able to remove the toxin in Liu Ying’s body.
LIng Qi Ye took Liu Ying to the town and while he was doing business with an English-speaking merchant.
Liu Ying happens to speak English as well but later on she had a little wander in town. She was sitting by the bank of a pond when a girl kicked her into the water.
Episode 6
Ling Qi Ye found her after Miss Wan, the girl who kicked her into the pond shouted for her.
Ling Qi Ye took her to safety and then asked Miss Wan if she saw anyone around at the pond who might have harmed Yingying.
Miss Wan denied seeing anyone, instead, she said that Yingying fell into the pond all by herself.
Ling Qi Ye was suspicious of Miss Wan.
Yiingying started talking in her sleep. She said that she likes…
Ling Qi Ye was intrigued thinking that she might be unconsciously confessing her feelings for him. Instead, Yingying said that she likes Donkey Burgers.
When she got better, Qimou, the manservant, delivered a donkey burger to her which surprised her.
Miss Wan came to visit Ling Qi Ye. They were interrupted by Yingying who pretended and complained that there are so many mosquitoes around. Yingying slapped Miss Wan and said that there was a mosquito on `Miss Wan’s cheek.
Miss Wan complained of being slapped to a smirking Ling Qi Ye. But Yingying was not finished. She said that if she had slapped Miss Wan it would be a harder real slap which she proceeded to do. She then left Miss Wan totally shocked.
Ling Qi Ye told Miss Wan that he was canceling any business arrangements with her family. He added that Miss Wan knew the reason.
Yingying received a pigeon post from Han asking her to spy.
Episode 7
Ling Qi Ye knew about it and so did Ling Jin Yu, who was curious about what Qi Ye would do to punish Ying Ying.
All Qi Ye said was to wait and see.
Ling Jin Yu knew that Qi Ye was falling in love with Yingying.
Yingying went to see Qi Ye to thank him for saving her life by removing all the poison in her system. As a show of gratitude, she said that she was willing to be his financial adviser.
She said that she could sell his product immediately with such a five percent fee (to her)
Qi Ye agreed, thinking that he has some herbal medicine that had been lagging in the cupboard unsold for more than 10 years. So he sneakily said that she should sell them.
Jingjing was true to her word, she was a pretty savvy businesswoman and sold everything and more.
As a reward, QiYe whispered to her that he could warm his bed that night.
Yingying was gutted.
Episode 8
Qi Ye moved Jingjing nearer his quarters. He then made her read lots of business books, when she complained saying that she was better in practical rather than theory, he made her copy the books instead.
She asked Jinze to copy the books for her but still, she got bored so she took Jinze to venture in the garden where the met the other women of Qi Ye’s harem.
Yingying played mahjong with them and won each time. Qi Ye turned up and asked why she was with his harem. He then gave her a red dragon mahjong tile which meant, he was choosing her to share his bed for the night.
Episode 9
Despite being in his bed, nothing happened to them.
The next morning, one of the concubines came to play mahjong with Yingying but she told the other girl that she had a dream that gambling will bring bad luck.
Anyway, Yingying asked the girl how to please Qi Ye in bed.
The other girl said knowingly that it seemed Qi Ye did not sleep with Ying Ying too. It turned out that Qiye had not slept with any of these concubines because their relationship was all about business affiliation.
Yingying said that was not right, Qi Ye must have a dysfunction.
That night, Qiye found Yingying half asleep reading Kamasutra books. He carried her to bed.
Yingying half woke and said that Qiye can stay in her bed because she won’t judge him. She knows his dysfunction.
Qiye said that he misunderstood her and began to kiss her passionately.
Episode 10
They only kissed passionately but it was enough for both of them to live in a daydream.
Qiye took Yingying to a shopping spree and ended up showing her a building and gifting it to her for her own shop.
Yingying was blissfully meandering in the town market with Qiye until she saw someone dressed in black.
Episode 11
Yingying is more comfortable with Qiye but Han showed up and reminded her that she had to avenge her parents who were killed by the Ling.
She was really not enthusiastic with their plans anymore being Qiye had been so reasonable with her.
Meanwhile, Qiye actually plotted that Yingying had a chance to speak with Han. He was later quite amused reading the intercepted pigeon post she wrote to Han.
Episode 12
Han sent his stooge to poison Yingying’s tea. When he visited the Ling, Qiye who spied that the tea was poisoned gave Han the tea to drink.
Without any choice, Han drank the tea and when Qiye turned his back, Han immediately tried to imbibe the antidote powder.
Unfortunately for him Qiye turned back and caught Han in the act which surprised Han so much that he dropped the powder on the table and had to lick the table. So hilarious.
Episode 13
Princess Luoxin came visiting and immediately saw Yingying having some intimate moment with Qiye. The princess got upset because she thought she would end up with Qi Ye one day being a childhood sweetheart.
The Princess quickly found out that Yingying was not an easy target. She gives as good as she gets.
As a last recourse, the princess told Yingying that she should be respectful towards her because she will be the main wife one day.
The Princess was interrupted by QiYe who told her to follow him.
Qiye then made it clear that he had ever seen the princess as a sister and would help to find her a suitable husband.
Yingying overheard Qiye telling the princess that he had fallen with Yingying for the reason he could not fathom himself.
Episode 14
Yingying visited Zhou Han who gave her the Yangchun Pill in a bed of powder. Yingying did not know that the pill was an aphrodisiac but was told that it has a unique medicinal property.
Han told her that the pill can nourish the yin and strengthen the yang. He told Yingying that this medicine is the ancestral secret recipe of the Zhou family.
Being the entrepreneur that she is, Yingying thought she could sell the Yangchun Pill in her shop.
Episode 15
Luoxin went to Qi Ye’s parents to report that Qi Ye had not consummated his marriage with Yingying.
Understandably, the parents were upset as they were anticipating having grandchildren soon.
Qi Ye told his parents that it was actually a technique to make a healthy baby as soon as possible. The separate bedrooms create anticipation.
This seemed to pacify the parents. But not enough because the mother locked Ying Ying and Qiye in his room. Yingying had no problem with it because her husband is gorgeous but then the Princess found out what had happened and she was far from happy.
Episode 16
The Princess was so annoyed so she was more than happy to collaborate with Zhou Han to separate QiYe from Ying Ying.
Ying Ying and Qiye are getting on well and even consummated their relationship already after they confessed to one another.
Ying Ying said that she was a spy sent by Zhou Han but she had not done anything wrong that would endanger Qiye.
Qiye was happy and told her that he had more than a crush on her.
But their happiness will not last as trouble is brewing at the shop.
Episode 17
The pharmacy was in chaos. People were inundating the shop with complaints of selling fake drugs.
Lin Jin Yu asked Qi Yu how he could still trust Yingying for what she had done.
Poor Yingying was so ashamed of what had happened at the shop she cannot trust herself yet to speak about it to Qi Yu who was worried about her but too proud to say anything to her so ended up staying away from each other.
QiYu ordered Qimou to check the purchase order of their fake pills.
Meanwhile, Yingying went to see Zhou Han and told him that she is discontinuing her ties with the Zhou family.
Zhou Han told her that she was so naive. He told her to recall the powder he blew into her face when he gave her the Yangchun Pill. He said that there is no doctor that could cure the poison that she unwittingly ingested. He said that she had to see him on a monthly basis for the antidote.
Yingying was undaunted and just sneered at him.
Episode 18
Meanwhile, the Princess told QiYe that she had always loved him and will never leave him.
QiYe was not interested though.
Yingying was too ashamed to stay at Xuling Villa so she packed her things to leave. But the Princess turned up and asked to check Yingying’s bag before she leaves.
The Princess got a fright when Yingying collapsed.
Episode 19
Qi Ye got the best doctor for Yingying but the physician said that the toxin had gotten to her organs it is no longer feasible to cure her.
The doctor is a quack who wanted a conductor to help him cure Yingying.
Lin Jin Yu, later on, told Qi Ye that the conductor is probably the one to suck out the toxin from Yingying.
Having this in mind, when Yingying woke and had a bit of medicine, QiYe snogged by way of sucking her malady.
Episode 20
The ending of this episode is hilarious.
The Princess went to see Zhou Han who said that he could make it happened for Yingying to disappear and the Princess can then have Qiye all to herself.
The Princess then went to see Qiye who was recovering slowly. The princess told Yingying that she purchased a very expensive medicine for her but before she could hand it over to Yingying, assassins blew a sleeping gas to the room. The princess became unconscious and so did Yingying.
Yingying woke up in a shed with the still unconscious Princess next to her.
The assassins told her that they were after the princess who they were about to kill but Yingying covered her with her body.
The assassins realised that they were doing unpaid overtime so they stopped and left.
Episode 21
Zhou Han showed up. He was very upset with the Princess for stealing the antidote.
The Princess said that as much as she love Qiye, she could not have a person poisoned. She said that she had already given the antidote to Yingying.
Zhou Han tried to pour a vial of poison into the princess’s mouth but Yingying interrupted and said that she was going to do everything Zhou Han wanted but he had to stop poisoning the Princess.
Zhou Han agreed on the condition that Yingying has to get him the map of the Ling shops.
Yingying took the Princess back to the Xuling Villa.
QiYe told Yingying that she had been a source of unending trouble so she had to go.
Yingying agreed to leave.
When she left the room, Qi Ye asked the Princess if she was satisfied. Apparently, he made a deal with the Princess to marry her in exchange of keeping Yingying unharmed.
Episode 22
QiYe caught Yingying stealing the treasure map. He said that from the beginning all she had been after was the map. He said that losing the map would mean the 9 Kingships of the Ling will be punished by the Emperor.
QiYe then gave Yingying a wedding invitation. Yingying was shocked about the invitation to Qi Ye and the princess’ wedding.
At this point, I do not have any sympathy with Yingying. She is too stupid.
Yingying finally realised that she had been played when the princess turned up all hail and healthy.
Qiye was drinking himself silly because he had to marry the princess for the sake of Yingying’s health so she could make her monthly top-up antidote.
Episode 23
Big revelation in this episode.
Yingying decided to fight back and would start with Zhou Han.
But Zhou Han was already being taken care off by assassins hired by the Princess.
Zhou Han said as he was tied by and found out that his captor was the princess that he can’t believe that he was going to die in the hand of his sister.
He then said that their father was the butler of the 8th prince. Their father was killed by the prince so as revenge, Zhou Ha exchanged his sister for the real princess. He then let the real princess live in hatred
Yingying and JiZhen who pretended as masked assassins heard what Zhou Han said and told the princess that he could verify what he said because she has the same rose tattoo mark on her shoulder as his.
The Princess ordered to take Zhou Han in prison for further interrogation
Episode 24
It was the wedding day. Yingying told the Princess that after the wedding she should not do anything nasty anymore
She then left to go to the palace to take a look at the other half of the treasure map. Apparently Butler Zhou was executed because he peeked at the map.
Anyway, poor Qiye has turned alcoholic.
His bride was still veiled waiting for him as he drank and drank. Regretting that he let Yingying down.
Then he turned to his bride and told her to remove the veil herself
She did and then he saw a smiling Yingying as his bride.
This was the end. Is she Yingying or was he just imagining her as an effect of excessive alcohol?🤪😭😭
There must be a part 2 because, in this instance, Yingying is not yet a blessed bride.
