I have to say immediately a major spoiler!

I have to advise though that when watching this movie, you must have a thick blanket with you because there is a coldness to this movie.
Though it is the cutest romance, there is an underlying sadness to it. You expect that everything will up in sadness because of the plot. Also, it rained constantly and even if it is not raining it was quite windy so their trip to the seaside was not shiny and bright but rather cloudy and cold but I have to say the young cast did a good job.
Luo Zhi was now working as. top-notch corporate lawyer. Her male mentor asked her why she had not married yet.
She just smiled, she can’t really tell him that she was so good at her job because she put her everything into her career in order to forget … someone.
But then as luck would have it she started recalling her past again when she got intrigued into going to an art exhibition entitled “Only Yesterday’ which was a novel/poem she like in high school.
She immediately noticed a blue notebook as part of the exhibition. She was just reaching for it when the guard stopped her. She told him that it was her diary. The guard told her to wait as he asked the manager about it.
While waiting, Luo Zhi started remembering her past and a boy she met when she was only eight years old.
He was Sheng Huainan, the son of the factory owner where her father worked and died. The owner refuse to pay a death benefit and so Luo Zhi not only lost her father but also part of her mother who became obsessed with the case she became a different person.
Nevertheless, when Luo Zhi saw the kindness in young Sheng Huainan, it was already too late, her young heart loved him.
They then meet again in high school, and though they could get together, a girl Ye Zhan Yan came between.
Sheng Huainan and Luo Zhi used to like the same poem and they would write little comments about the poem on a wall on the school rooftop. Though Sheng Huainan did not know that it was LuoZhi was his anonymous friend, Luo Zhi knew it was him as she had rather stalked him.
But then it rained so hard, the writing on the wall was erased but the crafty Ye Zhan Yan who found out about the secret friendship from the diary she stole from Luo Zhi, wrote the lines on the wall again and that is why Sheng Huainan ended up being her boyfriend for a while. He thought she was his secret friend.
Luo Zhi saw that the two were dating so instead of crying herself silly, she put all her effort into studying until she became the number one student in her year.
In college, she met Sheng Huainan again. Though she tried to stay away from him, he seemed to be in her face all the time. He was pursuing her. Her young heart was only too happy to accept him but it ended too soon because finally, the case about her father was heard in court and found his boss liable for the death of her father.
Though relieved of the outcome, Luo Zhi was sad because Sheng Huainan’s father went to prison, his mother collapsed and taken to the hospital while Sheng Huainan had to leave school.
Luo Zhi tried to find him but when she finally saw him, he was with Ye Zhan Yan at the hospital. They looked cosy tending to his mother
Now at present time, the security guard finally came back and returned the diary to her.
As she scan the pages, she noticed that Sheng Huainan continued her diary and told her everything of what happened to him. She found out that Ye Zhan Yan gave Luo Zhi’s diary to him just before high school graduation.
So having learned how Luo Zhi felt about him, he found out what university she was going to enroll in and made sure he got admitted as well.
And the rest is history.
Luo Zhi was so overwhelmed how life had become unkind to Shen Huainan. She was very upset outside the gallery and waiting for the rain to stop when Shen Huainan turned up with an umbrella.
They both cried just looking at one another. Sheng Huainan then said that he was not the same boy, he now had nothing. Luo Zhi looked at him seriously and told him that she can still see everything that she likes about him.
The End.
I do recommend this film. It is not the most exciting but there is a story to it.
