Episode 1
The start is on the arty side but went macabre pretty quickly.
A couple of children were playing hide and seek at the Luzhou Nursing Hospital when one of the girls found a bleeding woman propped against a row of cabinets still holding a bloody knife. Before the girl could scream, a cabinet door opened up and a body fell from it.
The investigator found out that the body was the hospital’s director.
Luzhou is a psychiatric hospital.
Meanwhile, Bailu, police officer, who had left the force after a traumatic botch mission declined her boss order to return.
But then, later on she got a text with a symbol that she remembers too well. It was a symbol that Xu Yi Ming told her to never forget. She must investigate it. He then died in her arms.
The symbol was alll it took for Bailu to return to policing.
She was welcomed effusively by her old team and she got on the nitty gritty of the death of Director Tang of Luzhou.
It turned out the suspect was a former forensic scientist who went crazy and had to be confined in the psychiatric unit.
Pretty interesting but not too sure about the acting of Li Jia Xin who played the crazy Gu Wu.
Episode 2
Bailu and An Huai Yu talked to the witness, It was a temperamental young Aoi who told them about the 13th gate. And also that if Haoshi turned up everyone will die.
Bailu went back to interrogate Gu Wu who seemed to know about the 13th Gate and Haoshi.
Gu Wu made a deal with Bailu to help her as long as Gu Wu could tag along in locating the 13th Gate within the hospital.
Gu Wu might not be really crazy. Because the staff in the hospital thought that she was special because she was not like the others who were referred by their family to the hospital.
Gu Wu walked in and had herself admitted. This was perhaps about finding out abut her brother who she found out was taking medication issued by the Luzhou Hospital.
Episode 3
Bailu and Gu Wu found the 13th Gate and its purpose. It is the secret room that Dr Tang used to collect blood from the patients once a month.
Bailu called his team to come search the room throughly.
It turned out that Gu Wu was sane and was working as an undercover agent. With her medical background she was deemed the most suitable to infiltrate the psychiatric hospital.
