Episode 1
It was an interesting first episode but I have to say this, Dylan Wang had to up his ante on the acting department. I know his character is supposed to be cold but his acting was just spouting his dialogue in not a very convincing way. He has the look but really need to pay extra attention to his acting and delivery.
Anyway, the story is in the finance world.
Zheng Shuyi was an ace reporter for a finance magazine. She had been preparing and trying to get an interview with the new whiz kind in town, Shi Yan who has a rather controversial reputation but everything he touches seemed to turn into gold.
Shuyi was supposed to go on a date with her boyfriend who was celebrating his birthday but then out of the blue, Shiyan scheduled an interview and asked that Shuyi does not interview with him.
Tang Yi, her manager, said that perhaps someone else should go as Shuyi has an important birthday date with her boyfriend. Shuyi said that her boyfriend would understand.
So she called her boyfriend and he was chill. He said that he knew how long she had prepared for the interview.
She was just leaving the office when she got a call from Shiyan’s assistant cancelling the interview for personal reasons.
Shuyi, however did not give up and got her contacts to tell her where Shiyan would be at. She found out that he was going to Guan Group Appreciation party.
She also went to the hotel venue where she the handsome Professor Yu You who had been hired by Guan Ji to join his company as a finance adviser.
Shiyan saw her and he liked what he saw. He remembered that he was attending a symposium where Shuyi was a speaker but he had to leave before she spoke, thus did not know how she looked like.
Anyway, Shuyi finally gave up as she knew she will not be able to speak with Shiyan so she asked her boyfriend to came and fetch her.
It was a cold rainy day and she had to wait on the street. All sorts of men driver stopped to offer her a lift but she turned them down. Again a car stopped in front of her but because she was losing patience, she shouted at the car owner that she was waiting for her boyfriend before person in the car could even start talking. It was too late to note that Shiyan was in the car which was already moving away.
Finally her boyfriend turned up and drove her home. He seemed to be rather shifty and smelled of light perfume but Shuyi trusted him implicitly. He told her to go to bed early and left immidiately.
Shuyi realised that she had misplaced her phone. She used her photo tracker on her ipad and found that her phone was in the hospital.
She got worried for her boyfriend so she hurried to the hospital. She saw him hugging and kissing another woman just outside the hospital.
Poor Shuyi was soaked to the bone but it was not the cold that pained her it was the betrayal.
Episode 2
Shuyi’s boyfriend broke up with her because he found a rich girl to take him places soonest.
The girl happened to be qin Le Shi, niece of the 27 year old Shiyan.
Episode 3
Finally, Shuyi managed to get an interview timeslot with Shiyan.
But it almost went wrong when Shuyi’s rival, Xu Yu Ling, tried to sabotage it by turning up to the interview an hour earlier, pretending that Shuyi sent her as Shuyi was rather indisposed.
When Shuyi turned up the interview was over. She was so shocked but then Shiyan came out of his office and listened to her and was intrigued with the five question she wanted answered additionally.
Shiyan said that he could answer her question in the car. It was a two hour ride to the stable owned by a prominent but elusive Guan Xiang Cheng.
Guan Xiang Cheng rather like Shuyi because she impressed him with her financial knowledge and her obvious adoration of him. She said had idolised since university.
Guan Xiang Cheng allowed her to wear his wife riding gear. He then asked Shiyan to teach Shuyi to ride.
Shiyan wickedly taught her a lesson. He rode with Shuyi on a horse and galloped with her. Even Guan Xiang Cheng got worried for a minute but he knew Shiyan had the horse under control.
Episode 4
Shuyi accidently dropped her plastic pearl earring at Shiyan’s card. So she could speak to him again, she pretended that the earring is a family heirloom and part of her dowry.
Shiyan was not fooled but still allowed her to come see him at his exclusive mansion.
Xu Yu Ling wa prancing and preening about having gotten the interview with Shiyan.
