Episode 1
it is a really good start. Very watchable.
Bai Shuo is the youngest daughter of Governor Bai. Young Shuo used to be the gentlest quietest little girl but something happened during a flower festival. She and her elder sister Xi were abducted by a demon. They were taken into the woods and would have been killed if the Purple Immortal had not turned up to save them. Poor Xi was almost fatally hurt but young Shuo begged the Purple Immortal to save Xi.
The Purple Immortal asked what it was for him. Shuo said that she will do everything to return the favour to him one day. The Purple Immortal said that he only return to the mortal world every thousand of years so she would be dead by then and therefore it is a useless promise.
Shuo promised him that she would make it her life’s work to become immortal. The Purple Immortal flicked his hand to cure Xi at the same time making both Xi and Shuo forget what happened.
When Shuo woke up, she was in bed at home with Xi and her father looking at her. Shuo started bubbling about being saved by immortal but Xi did not know what Shuo was talking about. No one believed her about immortals but she persisted. Xi was taken ill. Despite many doctors being consulted no one can cure Xi until a passing Taoist Priest came by. After healing Xi, the Taoist Priest said at Xi won’t last in the mortal world so he had to take her away with him.
Shuo was distraught which only made her more obssessed of researching immortality. Her father adopted an orphan boy, Zhong Zhao who was very amiable. Governor Bai like Zhong Zhao very much so he bethroted his strange daughter Shuo to Zhong Zhao.
Shuo did not think much about it as Zhong Zhao never mentioned it.
Ten years later… Shuo has grown into a feisty confident young woman but has become obssessed about immortality more than ever. She heard that the Eternal Envoy was staying at Unbridled Pavilion, the local brothel. Without wasting anytime, Shuo went to Unbridled Pavilion with several chests of treasures to offer to the Eternal Envoy.
Instead of an Eternal Envoy, she met Fan Yue of the demon race, and who happens to be King of the Polar Realm and Master of Bright Moon Palace. He was intrigued by the arrogance of Bai Shuo. He realised that she was quite extraordinary especially when she happened to hold on to his bracelet which has the Desireless Stone, a divine relic of the Goddess Xingyue. The stone started lighting up which never happened before.
Governor Bai turned up with soldiers for a routine and impromptu inspection of the brothel. He was shocked to find Shuo inside. He dragged her out but Shuo managed to say to Fan Yue that she would see him soon.
Meanwhile, Zhong Zhao was a secret member of the Eternal Sect, the guardian of the divine relic of goddes Xingyue. They were distressed that it has been missing.
