Cabbage Guisado (Ginisang Repolyo)
This is a delicious meal for any given day except meat-free Friday if you are a practicing Catholic 🙂
Anyway without further ado, the recipe for this dish is easy-peasy.

Ingredients:
- 1 pointed cabbage, sliced thinly (use any of your favourite cabbage variety)
- 3-6 cloves garlic (i love garlic), peeled and chopped finely
- 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, chopped
- 200g pork belly, sliced
- 1 cup water
- 150g shelled king prawns or shrimps
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 14g butter
- 1 tbsp fish sauce (less or more, according to taste)
Method of preparation:
- Using a large frying pan or a wok, heat the olive oil with the butter.
- Saute the garlic until brown and fragrant. Do not burn to prevent any bitter taste.
- Add the pork belly pieces and stir-fry until golden and sizzling all over.
- Tip in the onion and tomatoes and cook until soft and juicy.
- Add the water and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the sliced cabbage and the shelled prawns.
- Season with the fish sauce.
- Cook until the cabbage is tender but there is still bite to it.
Enjoy!
This makes for a happy bunny’s complete menu with just some boiled rice. 🙂 🙂 🙂
