Brassica: Cabbage

Cabbage

I love cabbage.  I even love growing them in the garden, though they do take a lot of time to look after because creepy crawlies also love cabbage. 🙁

There are of course people who can’t stand them.  Probably it has more to do with the smell of a day old cooked cabbage, just guessing as I don’t really have a problem with the aroma.

helpful tipsTo minimise the aroma given off by the boiled cabbage, add a whole walnut to the cooking liquid.

Below are photos of sweetheart cabbage, they are my favourite.  It is the easiest to cook, crunchy and tastiest, I think.
