Episode 1

Yoon Yoo Jin is the enigmatic and mysterious fashion designer, Bella.  She was a renowned designer with a difference.  No one knew how she looks like. Only a handful of people do.

Her mystery had something to do with her late mother who was a supermodel, turned fashion designer herself.  The death of her mother seemed to be rather scandalous that it had affected the then young Yoo JIn,

As Bella, she is a rather disturbed woman, who suffers from anorexia.  She seemed can take ordinary food until she had a taste of Moon Seung-Mo’s cooking when he helped her into the hospital when she fainted in the middle of the street in Australia where they both show-casing their talents.  Seung Mo was a chef.

He was in the middle of a very successful and profitable event when he got a call that both his beloved parents had died from a housefire.

He rushed to South Korea immediately to see to his parents’ funeral.

Taling about the funeral, Yoo Jin got a call that her mother’s gravesite had been sold to a big company who wanted to ultimate.

Yoo Jn went to see who bought the land.  She offered to buy back the land at three times its price but the manager would not agree.  He seemed to know that she was the Mysterious Bella. He told her to work for the company and she can have the land.

When she said she was not interested the manager got nasty and blackmailed her to do what she was told otherwise the scandal about her mother’s death will resurface.

She got so annoyed she flounced off but told the manager that her lawyer will contact him.

Outside, she was ambushed by the manager’s daughter, who said that she was her number one fan.

Yoo JIn was not impressed but allowed the girl to give her a lift in her car.

While they were driving the girl who showed her portfolio to Yoo Jin asked what she thought of her design?

Yoo JIn said that it plagiarised work.  She then asked the girl if she was the one who stole Yoo JIn show dress.

The girl lost her composure and drove the car on a cliff.

There was a random girl in this story who just turned up and said that she was the daughter of Seung-Mo.

Seung Mo said that it was not possible and told his friend to take the girl away and give her back to her mother whoever she was.

The little girl got so upset she ran off into the mountain where Seung Mo found her.  They then got the fright of their lives when out of nowhere a zombie-like creature all battered appeared and quickly fainted on their feet.

It is a good strong start to the drama.

Episode 2

The zombie girl was of course Yoo Jin.

Seung Mo carried her on his back down the mountain, where he met the villagers who tagged along with him and the girl to the hospital.

The doctor said the girl was only suffering from superficial injury.  However, he confirmed that the girl has amnesia.  She can’t remember anything or who she was.

Seung Mo ended up having to take her in his care as no one in the village was willing to.  They said that he found her, he should look after her. Founder’s keeper.

Seung Mo finally recognised the girl as the homeless in Australia.

Meanwhile, Im Hyun Ah called her father to help her look for Bella.  Her father told her to say nothing about it.

He send him minions to look for Bella or her remains.  They reckoned that she was dead and her body had disappeared into the abyss of the lake would never be seen again.

With this in mind, Hyun Ah’s father told her that she will be the new Bella.

Episode 3

I must say this episode is hard-going.  Bella is so tediously annoying and useless.  All she did was eat and cause trouble and despite being absolutely useless, she is so demanding.

Jang Sung Young came back to Korea and despite being worried about Bella, she allowed herself to be blackmailed and convinced by Im Chul Young to keep a blind eye to his daughter pretending to be Bella.

Seung Mo went back to Seoul and see the remnant of his parents’ restaurant which was only the partly burned signage.

The signage almost did not last long because airhead Bella used it as firewood.

He was so annoyed with here telling here that she might be suffering from amnesia but that does not give her a license to completely turn into a complete airhead.

Airhead or not, Seung Mo and Bella ended up drinking all night and woke up in each other’s arms.

Chul Yong found out that Bella is alive.  He ordered that she be killed on the quiet.

Hotdog, Extra Juicy

Hotdogs

Hotdog, Extra Juicy

I love hotdogs; especially Philippine hotdogs. It is a street food that is so yummy and so meaty. It can be fried or it can be grilled. Its taste can be further enhanced by the sauce you spread along the hotdog or you dip it into. So, so, so delicious.

I like it also eaten with lightly fried eggs and fried rice for breakfast. I have not seen hotdog, the Filipino style here in my side of London. I may have to venture farther afield where there are Specialty Filipino Stores.

Hotdogs apparently were European in origin.  But it was in America that they gained their worldwide popularity.  They were originally called frankfurters, after their place of origin in Germany.  Frankfurters was renamed Weiner when it migrated to Austria.

When it crossed the pond (Atlantic ocean) to America, it became known as dachshund sausage, due to its elongated shape.

One chilly April, during a baseball game, the vendor of the dachshund sausage was instructed to shout “Get ’em while they’re hot”.  It was selling like hotcakes that a sports cartoonist, Tad Dargon, was impressed enough to include it in a newspaper article.  He called it HOTDOG as he can’t spell dachshund! (he is not the only one) And that is the legend of the much-loved hotdog!

Talking about hotdog, there was a group or band in the Philippines that was so popular whilst I was growing up. Yes, you’ve guessed it, the band was called Hotdog and they sang one of my favourite songs ever called Manila. It is a nostalgic song about Manila wrapped in a sophisticated sentiments.

Manila
by Hotdog

Manila

I keep coming back to Manila
Simply no place like Manila
Manila, I’m coming home

I walked the streets of San Francisco
I’ve tried the rides in Disneyland
Dated a million girls in Sydney
Somehow I feel like I don’t belong

Hinahanap hanap kita Manila
Ang ingay mong kay sarap sa tenga
Mga jeepney mong nagliliparan
Mga babae mong naggagandahan

Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you’ll never let go
Promise me you’ll never let go

Manila, Manila
I keep coming back to Manila
Simply no place like Manila
Manila, I’m coming home

Hinahanap hanap kita Manila
Ang ingay mong kay sarap sa tenga
Mga jeepney mong nagliliparan
Mga babae mong naggagandahan

Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you’ll never let go
Promise me you’ll never let go

Manila, Manila
Miss you like hell, Manila
No place in the world like Manila
I’m coming home to staeey
