Episode 1

This drama reminded me of that old Harrison Ford/Kristine Thomas Scott’s ‘Random Heart’ where their respective spouses died in a plane crash and then found later to be having an affair.

I have to admit that I did not like the film.  I did not like Harrison Ford’s character, he was too full on pursuing the grieving widow.

This time around the romance between the shell-shocked widow and widower was more sedate.

It was the widow, Bai Kao’er who was pursuing Geng Mochi.

Anyway, it started with Geng Mochi feeling that there was something that was not quite right.  This was just before he went on stage to give a piano concerto.

His audience included Bai Kao’er.

As his piano crescendo came into fruition, in the background a couple was holding hands and did a Thelma & Louise kind of thing and their car plunged into the lake.

Bai Kao’er found out that her husband had committed suicide with his mistress.

Geng Mochi found out that his wife committed suicide with her lover.

Bai Kao’er was devastated not only because her gentle husband was dead and was having an affair but because she was being driven to be homeless by her mother-in-law, who wanted all the assets of her dead son.

Bai Kao’er’s home she shared with her husband was in his name, despite her helping to pay the mortgage.

She started to look for the deeds of the house when she found more than she bargained for.  She found depression medicine from a locked cupboard of her husband.

She then later found out that he had been seeing a psychiatrist for the last ten years.

It was in the clinic that he met his mistress.

I must admit I don’t like Bai Kao’er’s character.

Her mother-in-law should be the centre of her anger but she was instead obsessing with Geng Mochi.  She was only a widow for five minutes and she was moving. LOL

I supposed Bai Kao’er is aggrieved because Bai Kao’er was trying to hide by suppressing information from the clinic of the relationship between her husband and his wife.

Actually, Geng Mochi was quietly separated by his wife, who was a popular composer.  They have been uncoupled for at least five years but have remained friends and were working together to finish a love Sonata.

Episode 2

Bai Kao’er found a key to her husband belongings which was given back to her from the police.  She knew the key was a hotel room’s.

She went to the hotel and realised it was her husband’s mistress’.  She found a diary which she quickly hid, and a letter which was address to the woman’s husband.  The husband, Geng Mochi, arrived before she can read what was on the letter.

They ended fighting for the letter and Geng Mochi swallowing the paper.

Bai Kao’er was now being harassed by loan sharks because he had borrowed 200,000 yen to put into his ailing business without telling his wife.

Her mother-in-law had already taken her husband asset without a fight from Bai Kao’er.

Now Bai Kao’er got fed up because the mother-in-law won’t pay the loan shark and she might have to lose her house.

Episode 3

Of all coincidences, this takes the biscuit, the plot that Bai Kao’er for her husband was next to Geng Mochi’s wife.?

So she would meet Geng Mochi again, and again.

He saw her visiting the grave and was quite out of it and almost got run over by a car.  She was a danger to drivers.  Geng Mochi felt compelled to see that she was alright and followed her as she walked like a zombie.

Bai Kao’er could not bear to read the diary of her husband’s dead mistress, so she asked her best friend who was a journalist to return the diary to Geng Mochi.

As drama would go, this would turn bad and it did because the friend left the diary on her desk which could be seen by anybody and this anybody was a paparazzi who was hungry for a good expose’.  He took the diary and made copies of the entries.

But in the end the drama queen Bai Kao’er decided to return the diary to Geng Mochi herself and told him that she did not read it and apologised for having taken it in the first place.

They met in the restaurant but had to have a swift get-away as the paparazzi were waiting for Geng Mochi by the door.

In their escape, Bai Kao’er lost one of her shoes.  Geng Mochi took her shoe shopping and had their flirty Cinderella moment where he had to put high heels on her.

Apparently, according to Geng Mochi, you should be ashamed as woman if you can’t walk on high heels.

Episode 4

Mochi was absolutely livid when he called Kao’er.  The content of the journal of his dead wife was all over the newspaper under Milan’s name.

Kao’er was distressed because she did not know about it.

Milan said that the journal was published from under her.  She did not know about it.

Mochi had the editor and manager of the newspaper sacked and Milan suspended.

Kao’er met Mochi at the cemetery.  She flirted with Mochi and ended up going for a meal where she ordered the most expensive ones on the menu.  But then Mochi thanked her for treating him for the expensive meal which flabbergasted Kao’er at first but she has got her pride so she as prepared to pay for the meal as long as he apologised for blaming her for the journal.

They ended up in the bar where they compared their strength of character and misfortune in life.

I have to say that Shishi is absolutely gorgeous.  She has one of the prettiest faces in Chinese drama.

Episode 5

Kao’er’s mother-in-law sold Kao’er’s house to her relatives.

During the mother-in-law’s birthday, Kao’er gatecrashed the party and started throwing a major strop.  She told the mother-in-law that she was so shameless. Kao’er was already left to pay for all the debts of her dead husband, now the mother-in-law wanted her house as well.  She said that her husband died in the company of another woman.  They owed her rather than the other way around.

Qi Shuli was at the party.  He was her mother-in-law’s first born son who is a very successful businessman.  He was appalled at his mother’s behaviour and told her that she had not changed at all.  She was still greedy and cruel.  He said to return the house to Kao’er and give her compensation.  He was also going to pay for the debts of the dead Shujie.

Meanwhile, Mochi warned Kao’er not to reveal the relationship between her dead husband and his dead wife.

Episode 6

Milan is living with her boyfriend who is so lovely and caring.  But then his sister came to visit.  The sister was seriously ill and needed a lot of money to cure her illness.

Luo Hao was contemplating using his and Milan’s savings to buy a house for his sister’s treatment.  He did not tell Milan about it.

Milan found out that the money was gone when she excitedly took Luo Hao to finally buy the apartment of their dreams.

She was heartbroken and broke up with Luo Hao.  She told him that she was not prepared to waste another 5 years with him.

Kao’er and Yingzhi commiserated with her.

Yingzhi told Milan that Luo Hao is a good man but she had to think carefully about marriage because it is a mingling of two families.

She had not told her friends that she is a victim of domestic violence.  Her husband, Zhang Qian Shan, a doctor is a brute.

Kao’er was such a flirt.  She was obsessed with Mochi.  She trespassed in his house and went through his things and drank his wine and stole his shaver.  She then realised that she had conveniently forgotten her mobile phone at Mochi’s house.

Mochi found her mobile phone and a hundred things she did in his house.  He knew that she would be back for her mobile phone so he tricked her.

When she went back, she saw her mobile phone waiting for her.  Instead of picking it up and leaving, she went to his fridge but a drink fell into her jumper. She of course had to have a bath in his bathroom with a bottle of his expensive red wine.

She was naked in his bathtub when he got home.  She was surprised, my foot, that she knocked the bottle of red wine into her leg.  She ended up being taken to the hospital by Mochi.

She then blamed him and asked him to take responsibility for her.

Episode 7

Qin Shuli made it impossible for Kao’er to refuse his dinner invitation.  But during the dinner, her feelings for him and his family remained antagonistic so, during dinner, she went to the loo and was accosted by Mochi who took her away from the restaurant as he was running away from his ex-girlfriend.

Then ended up in the mountains watching meteor showers.

Episode 8

Qin Shuli was a bit upset with Kao’er as she did not even apologise for running out from him.

He asked her to meet for another dinner but she was not really interested and Milan had warned her to be careful of Qin Shuli.

Meanwhile, Kao’er was so curious about Mochi but then again, he was now treating her as his girlfriend.

He started confessing to her but she was clueless about what he was saying so he told her that she was so stupid.  How could she bring him to a romantic place such as watching a meteor shower together which made him start developing thoughts about her?

He then pushed her away and said to think about it and then talk to him afterwards.

But then she found a record of all the times that Shujie and Ye Sha met up.  It looks like the relationship was intense and passionate.

Kao’er was very upset and told Milan about it.  Milan told her to not trust Mochi because he was her enemy.  He was taking out the hurt and the pain he had for his wife, Ye Sha,on the living which is Kao’er.

Poor Ying Zhi, she was almost beaten up by her husband when she told him that anniversaries are not important.  Spending time with children was much better.  She was really trying to pacify him for forgetting the date of their anniversary.

Dr Zhang thought that she was patronising him.

Episode 9

There was a press conference about Mochi’s collaboration with the German.  It went chaotic when Kao’er turned up really hysterical after receiving a text from Mochi where he replied to her question about why he approached her.  He said that it was an act of revenge against her husband for playing around with his wife.

The text was really sent by Mochi’s conniving PA who was jealous of Kao’er.

Anyway, Kao’er seemed to be an amnesiac.  She did all the running to get Mochi.  She threw herself at him.

Kao’er had to hide because she was implicated as the third party when Wan Zhen Zhen tried to commit suicide.

The suicide came out as just a stunt so Wan Zhen Zhen gets some publicity.

Meanwhile, the PA was fired by Wei MIng Lun who reminded her that he told her not to get ideas about Mochi from the outset.

Yingxi tried to tell Milan that she was not happy with Dr Zhang but Milan stopped her.

Milan said that Yingxi was so lucky being married to Dr Zhang who was generous.

Episode 10

Kao’er who had been hiding at her parents’ house finally went home.

Shuli told her that he has a place she could use where she could be safe from any paps.

Kao’er was so flirty. She pretended to be so upset with Mochi but still, she went looking for him so she could flirt a storm.

Mochi told her that he liked her and he thinks she likes him too.  They should be together.

Kao’er said that they come from different worlds.  She was too ordinary for a celebrity like him.  She likes being ordinary and does not want to be photographed by the paps every single day, so no, she does not want to go into any relationship with him.

Luo Hao was stressing about his sister, who was trying to match him up with a nurse in the hospital.

Luo Hao was delivering a car for a client without the necessary insurance.  Of course, as drama goes, it would go wrong,  He crashed the car and had to pay for it from in own pocket.  He called Milan and said that he was finished.

But Milan found out that the client was from the company of Shuli so Milan asked Kao’er to intervene.

Shuli said that he will sort it out.

Meanwhile, Yingzhi was going to divorce her husband for slapping her in public.
