Episode 1

What an interesting first episode.  I love it.

The drama started with a typical kdrama within a kdrama scenario.

Baek Hyun Woo works at Queen’s Group in the legal department.  He met a intern who seemed determined to kick the photocopier to submission.  Baek Hyun Woo could not take the abuse so he showed her how to use the machine properly.

What he did not know was that the intern who happened to be Hong Hai-in is the granddaughter of the chairman of Queen’s Group.

Anyway, Baek Hyun Woo did not know these and over time he continued to keep an eye on the feisty intern.

Then one day, Hong Hai In asked him if he was crushing on her.  Hyun Woo said that though he was not very rich, he is still comfortably of, a graduate of Seoul National University, his parents own lands and had almost 35 cows.  He had also paid his rent for two years in advance.  He said that though he preferred his future wife to work, he can support her himself.

Hong Hai In could not help but smirk although at the same time she was fascinated by such a guileless guy.

When he finally found out that Hong Hai is a third generation chaebol, he resigned and ghosted her.

She found him in his village.  They were then married.

But three years on, their married life is in tatters.  They live in the nuclear family of the Hongs.  It was stressful to live with greatgranpa, grandpa, father, mother, various aunts and uncles and cousins in one roof.

Poor Hyun Woo was so stressed that he sought the help of a psychiatrist.

Hyun Woo poured all his troubles and woes to the psychiatrist (played by Oh Jung Se).  Hyun Woo said that he hated the Hong family but he detested his wife more.  He decided that there is nothing else to do but divorce her.

So he went to his family in Yongduri Village.  It looked like that they are not much better than the Hongs because when he told them that he planned to divorce Hai In, they discouraged him not because they value the sanctity of marriage but because they will lose the perks of being affiliated with the rich and influential Queen’s Group.

Anyway, he made up his mind and went home to confront Hae In about it.  He had already printed a divorce contract but when he saw her, she insisted to tell him the her news first.

She said that she went to the hospital for the result of her test, she did ask him to go with her but he refused not knowing that it was the hospital she wanted to take him to.

She delivered her bombshell.  She has a terminal illness and would not last longer than three months.

Suddenly, Hyun Woo could not tell her about his wish for a divorce.

Episode 1

Wow!  The first episode is really something.

Welcome back, Kim Nam Joo.

Anyway, the first episode really gather you in to keep watching.

Eun Soo Hyun was having the best life.  She became a prominent and popular author, she is married to the best guy, who still fancies her after all the years together and they finally have the much long for child, a boy, after four previous miscarrages.  Eun Soo Hyun could not asked for more so she thought.

She was bound for a book signing when, her husband contacted her asking where she kept the medicine for their son who has a fever.

Immediately, Eun Soo Hyun worried and got anxious when she called her husband again just to check on their son before her flight but he was not answering the phone.  For some reason, her husband phone was under the bed.

What is going on?  Is Mr Perfect, not so perfect afterall?  Is he having an affair with his wife best friend and manager, Han Yoo Ri?

Anyway, she got home and saw a mother and daughter happily taking a video just outside her house.  As she got into her garden, she was met by her son who seemed to be well.  She told her son that he could play just a few minutes more in the garden and then come in.  She went inside the house and found her husband behaving rather furtively.  She found out that he had been taking tablets for depression.  He started when he got fired from his job in journalism.

They then heard their dog barking and when they checked their son can’t be found.  They found that the gate was opened.

Eun Soo Hyun blamed herself for not closing the gate.

They looked for Guwoon everyone but it was getting dark and it became more worrying.

Finally Eun Soo Hyun saw people crowding around a child who had been in accident.  It was Guwoon.

He was rushed to the hospital but he was too badly injured with brain aneurysm as well.  So the surgeon advised Soo Hyun and Soo Ho to prepare for the worst.

Guwoon passed away.  Poor Soo Hyun was like a living dead and it became even worst when the man who crashed to Guwoon was given 2 and half years prison sentence but with four years probation so it means he won’t spend a day in jail.

This was too much for Soo Ho who went ballistic in court.  He ended up in prison to calm down.

Meanwhile, So Hyun went to look for the man who hit her son and asked him to apologise to Guwoon.

The guy laughed and told gave her a business card so they could discuss how much money she wanted.

So Hyun was shocked and insisted for the man to apologise to the photo of Guwoon.  Still the man pushed her and started walking away.

Now demented with hate, So Hyun got into her car and ran over the man.

Episode 2

So Hyun ended up in prison and was given a seven-year sentence.  She did not help herself at all, in fact she seemed to welcome the punishment.

She kept her head down in prison and function like an automaton.  Her inmates left her alone but a woman, Jang Hyun Ja befriended her and kept a look out for her.

So Hyun refused to see her husband who persisted in visiting her.

Soo Ho had put all his skill as a journalist to dig into the case his wife and son as he was determined to get So Hyun out of prison as soon as possible.

He was successful.  He found out that Kwon Ji Woong, the driver, who killed Gunwoo was a contruction company CEO who backed Assemblyman, Kim Jun.

Kim Jun then used his old boys network to ensure that Kwon Ji Woong did not end in prison.

Soo Ho confronted Kim Jun.  He told him that he will do everything he can to make sure that Kim Jun who aspirese to end up in the Blue House does not get there.  He will reveal all the corruption.

Kim Jun was unbothered and simply laughed off Soo Ho’s threat.

Because he should him a photograph.  Kim Jun said that the photo will finish any relationship Soo Ho has with his wife as it would give more complexities to their son’s death.

Yoo Ri and Soo Hyun’s mother went to visit Soo Hyun.  They told her that Soo Ho was leaving for abroad as a foreign correspondent.  They told her to agree to see Soo Ho so he does not leave.

Finally Soo Hyun saw Soo Ho.

Soo Ho was happy to see her and told her that he will try to earn enough money so that when he gets out she never had to work again.

Soo Hyun told him that this will be the last they would see each other. She wanted a divorce and refused to change her mind.

Jang Hyung Ja, her mother figure in prison was diagnosed with terminal illness.  Before she passed she gave a notebook which contains apology letter to the son who survived the fire Hyung Jia caused.

Jang Hyung Ja said that she found her husband cavorting with his mistress so she set the house on fire not expecting that the fire would spread quicklyn next door killing the mother and father of a boy.

Episode 3

This drama is like Misty all over again.

The boy turned out to be Kwon Seol Yun who has a murky life.

Kwon Seol Yun refused the notebook but Soo Hyun started stalking him.  He told her to leave him alone.

Meanwhile, Soo Ho had returned to Korea.  He went to mother-in-law’s house to find Soo Hyun.  Soo Hoo and Soo Hyun missed each other so much so Soo Hyun reconciled with him and went back to their old house.

Not everyone was happy with this situation especially, Jung Hyung Hee, her mother-in-law.

Anyway, Soo Hyun decided to live a happy and normal life so when she was invited to appear with Soo Ho in a tv interview, she agreed.

But then she received an envelope which contained one photograph.

It was a photo of half-naked Soo Ho kissing a woman in their house.

Is the woman Yoo Ri?

Episode 4

No, it is not Yoo Ri.  It was the neighbour as we are led to believe in the last few minutes of this episode.  But my money is still on Yoo Ri because she behaved so erratically when she found out about the photo.

Seon Yul who spotted Soo Hyun looking distractedly at the photo offered to help her as he knows a bit about photography.

He was happy when she went to bail him out of prison by claiming that she was his guardian.
