Quick Precis: A girl who was delusional thought that a young CEO of a cosmetic company is her husband.

This is a return collaboration between Li Jiaqi and Zhao Yi Qin after their cute drama, My Youth.

Episode 1

Aww, they are back and the same old chemistry was still there.  Cute first episode.

Li Jiaqi is getting prettier and prettier.

Anyway, Meng Hui is a make-up artist who suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).  It has not been clarified yet where and how she got the PTSD.

Anyway, the effect of PTSD to her is that she developed a different personality contrary to her usual gentle, to the point of being meek, and calm self.

During an interview to become a make-up artist for a reality tv show, she was under the occurrence of her PTSD, therefore she was bold and sassy.

She told them that she studied at Spake International Arts Academy in Paris and was affiliated with a Japanese doyen of make-up artists.

She easily got the job with more than the salary they were expecting.  But when she got to the toilet, she was her normal self again and totally disorientated.

Her friend and psychiatrist had to come and get her and tried to assuage her concern that she was not going to be able to do the job.

Her friend though said that she doesn’t have any confidence in herself which was wrong and then should her her own vlog on cosmetics and make-up.  Meng Hui is getting a lot of hit for her tips and advice and becoming a very strong online influencer.

The next day, Meng Hui was traveling by bus to work when she happened to sit near a guy talking about millions of yuans in transactions.

The driver asked the guy to pay for his fare before the bus moves on.

The guy looked into his wallet which was empty so he ordered Meng Hui to pay for his pay and he will transfer the money immediately via wechat.

Meng Hui put 2 yuans on the bus’ coins slot, which annoyed the guy.  The fair was only 1.80 so she paid an extra .02 yuan by using coin rather than a card.

He did pay her using his wechat but only for 1.80.

She complained at first but he cut her off by saying thank you which she immediately answered back wit ‘You’re welcome”. Such a polite girl.

The guy was Shen Yu, CEO of  LS Cosmetics.

Shen Yu entered the cosmetic industry because he wanted to create a foundation that could totally cover a scar.

Shen Yu is not popular with his workers because he was known to be a miser, he counts money to the last penny.

In fact there is an office gossip that his girlfriend dumped him because he gave her a present of set of lipsticks he created in the lab which would have cost him 10 yuan.

Anyway, to find the face fo LS Cosmetics, they are working with a reality tv, where Meng Hui had become one of the make-up artists.

It so happened that one of the contestants was the former girlfriend of Shen Yu.

The ex and Meng Hui had a bit of backstage confrontation where the ex said that Meng Hui was a fake and took Meng Hui’s resumé to the management.

At first they were going to dismiss Meng Hui but she appeared as the confident Meng Hui and threw her mobile phone to Shen Yu showing her popular cosmetic vlog.

Someone immediately noticed that Meng Hui was indeed a popular influencer.  She can make or break a brand with her review.

Instead of being dismissed, her pay was doubled. She then seduced Shen Yu with her artful ways of covering a pimple on his face.

He was surprised that there was no longer any sign of his pimple.  He then became her love-slave, taking the same bus home together.

So cute.

Episode 2

Shen Yu and Meng Hui don’t know yet that they have a history together.

Shen Yu went into the cosmetic industry to find a foundation that could cover a scar.

Meng Hui’s PTSD was caused by an accident when she was a little girl.

When Shen Yu was just a kid, he was often bullied and one day he had enough and got a steel rod to brandish against the bullies.

A little girl tried to intervene but she got hit in the face leaving a long deep wound on her face and ultimately a long scarring.

Shen Yu had always felt guilty about the girl.  While Meng Hui felt self-conscious about it.

Dr Tao had told Shen Yu about Meng Hui’s PTSD so he could understand her better.

Episode 3

Shen Yu was sympathetic to Meng Hui’s PTSD so he indulged her a little bit, allowing her to think that they were really boyfriend and girlfriend.

However, his being stingy with money was a real problem.

Meng Hui when she was under her PTSD state would like to actually experience what the normal Meng Hui could only dream of.

When it cost more than the budget threshold of Shen Yu, he would not comply until it gets embarrassing for both of them, such as going to eat in a restaurant or on a Ferries Wheel when Shen Yu only requested half the price of the ticket as they were only going to occupy one seat instead of the whole capsule.

They Meng Hui set her heart to a romantic show of his devotion to her with fireworks.

Shen Yu, not really being in love with her, did not bother with the full-blown fireworks display.  Instead, he bought a couple of sparklers and he would not even allow her to light the two together as it would not maximize their usefulness.

Shen Yu had had enough and told him that it doesn’t look like he was really into the relationship.  She told him that she was using a 100yuan eyeliner, especially for this date.

He told her that 100yuan could feed a nuclear family for three days or 25 children from the orphanage.

Ming Hui asked him if he was going to donate that he was saving for their date to charity?

He can’t answer so she left him.

The next time, they were cold with each other.  The reporters asked Meng Hui about a foundation that could cover scars.

She told them that the foundation won’t cover scars only technique does.

Shen Yu took this statement personally as it was his raison d’etre to create that foundation.

In front of the workers in reality tv, he told Meng Hui that they have no relationship.  He was really annoyed with her.

Shen Yu was sulking when Wei Lei appeared before him. He immediately noticed that the scar on her arm had gone.  He asked her about it and she had to confess that Meng Hui put a foundation on it.

Meanwhile, Meng Hui was still thinking whether Shen Yu had really broken up with her when he appeared, calling her darling and apologising to her that it was all his fault while he was eyeing the set of the foundation behind her.

Episode 4

Wei Lei had an accident in the dressing room while she was alone with Meng Hui.

When Shen Yu and the rest of the staff came to see what the commotion was all about, they saw Wei Lei’s nose was bleeding so much.  Shen Yu instructed for Wei Lei to be taken to the hospital.

He stayed to scold Meng Hui for her bad behaviour, causing Wei Lei’s nose to be damaged.  He told her that Wei Lei spent a lot of money on her face and it was out of order for Meng Hui to have ruined it for Wei Lei.

He was still incandescent with rage when he left her.

He went to Wei Lei who was taken to Sui An’s hospital.

For all her fault, Wei Lei immediately confirmed that Meng Hui has nothing to do with the accident,  She said it was all her fault and bad luck.

Shen Yu then felt guilty that way he treated Meng Hui. He did not even let her explain before leaving her.

He went back to Meng Hui and apologised.

She accepted his apology without any fuzz which made him feel more guilty.

It was the semi-finals of the reality show.

Without Wei Lei, they were missing a contestant and they can’t find a replacement who was willing to bare all (remove her make up completely) on television.

Manager Xu, who has a massive crush on her boss, Shen Yu, suggested using Meng Hui as it was her fault that Wei Lei was indisposed

So the judges had been seated and the contestants were asked to remove their make-up.

Meng Hui removed hers and it showed the long scar that almost runs from her right ear to her jawline.

Many felt repulsed of the scar and they started muttering and whispering which was off-putting for Meng Hui..

Meng Hui realised what had happened and tried to cover her scar with her hand but Manager Xu was crowing and told the director to put Meng Hui for a close-up.

Shen Yu was shocked by the scar but he ran toward Meng Hui and hugged her to him to cover her from the invasive camera.

Episode 5

Shen Yu carried her to a hotel room to rest.  While Meng Hui was sleeping, he called Sui An to give his prognosis whether it was possible for him to do plastic surgery on Meng Hui’s scar.

Sui An, who I must say is looking gorgeous even if wearing a bell-boy uniform lol, asked Shen Yu if she was the girl he had been looking for.

Shen Yu said that he was one hundred percent sure.  He had really been scared to look for her over the years and all the time she was on his side.

He said that he was going to look after her for the rest of her life and be her boyfriend.

Sui An said to let Meng Hui see him in his clinic.

When Meng Shui woke up the next morning, she can’t believe what she saw.  There were boxes of the things she wanted.  All the things in her wishlist. There were Chanel, Prada, Burberry and much much more.

She then noticed Shen Yi sleeping by the floor next to her bed.

She doesn’t know what was going on so she tried to sneak out but Shen Yu stated that she was finally awake.

He asked her if she wanted all the gifts he got her and jus to tell him anything she wants and he’ll get it for her.

This worried Meng Shui and asked him why would he buy her things.

Shen Yu calmly said that because he was her boyfriend and he will stay at her side and look after her forever.

Meng Shui was shocked and worried that she had to pay for everything he bought her.

She apologised to him saying that it was all a misunderstanding. It was her PTSD that made her say he was her boyfriend but she was back to normal.

Shen Yu asked her if she doesn’t really want him to be her boyfriend.

She said no, it was a misunderstanding.

Meng Shui went to see Sui An for a consultation.

He said that there’s a British plastic surgeon who comes to China once a year and does one operation.

Meng Shui said that she was not particularly bothered with her scar as she had gotten used to it and she can cover it with makeup.

Sui An had told Shen Yu that he can’t do the operation himself because it was too deep and too old.  He then told when Yu about Dr. Smith.

Shen you said to book him to which Sui An said he already did.

The piling presents from Shen Yu were making Meng Shui stressed especially after they had agreed to be close as best friends.

As friends, Meng Shui realised that she can’t just take and take.  She also has to give.  She took her best friend, Dr Tao to get a return present for Shen Yu.  It was an expensive pair of cuff links.

Manager Xu saw it and remarked that it must be a return present from Meng Shui.  This made Shen Yu think.  He was actually making life difficult for Meng Shui in giving her presents because she had to give him return gifts as well.

To make Meng Shui not worry too much especially about money, he treated his stop to food that would give free vouchers in return.

Meng Shui had earlier found out that Shen Yu has a different persona from the miser guy he appears to be.  She saw a whole wall of certificates of his philanthropy.  He had gone up in her estimation.

Episode 6

I am not loving this episode.  It does not make sense.

Meng Hui was given the chance to have an operation on her facial scar by the renowned British plastic surgeon.  What does she do?

She gave the voucher/slot to Wei Lei to fix her nose.

Then suddenly Meng Hui behaved pathetically, feeling embarrassed that people are looking at her and judging her because of her scar.  She also had her PTSD.  So why give away the chance to Wei Lei when Meng Hui knew herself that she is more deserving because of her complex over her scar, she was also screwed mentally manifesting a different persona when under her PTSD.

I think the scriptwriter did not really think this carefully.  They just want us to feel that Meng Hui is so selfless she would rather help her enemy than herself. 🙁

Anyway, Meng Hui was quite plucky she unintentionally emotionally blackmailed Shen Yu into agreeing that he was in love with her, when he was not really sure yet.

Jiang Jiang attended a school reunion where he was always bullied by his former classmates.  He always ended up paying for the meal and still looked down upon.

Shen Yu did send him his black unlimited credit card.  But this was not enough, they still laughed at him for not having a girlfriend.

Dr Tao was a vision when she turned up pretending to be upset that Jiang Jiang denied that he has a girlfriend.  That she was his girlfriend.

By the way, it looks like Dr Sui An is hiding something.

Episode 7

Aww, this episode is rather excruciating.

Shen Yu was more or else forced by pity and that he owed Meng Hui so he was now her boyfriend.

They had their first kiss as a couple and he seemed to like it that when Meng Hui invited him for coffee at her flat, he was only to happy to accept.

He was wandering around her flat while she made the drink. He came across her Primary School yearbook and was surprised that she went to Chong Hai for primary school.  He asked her if she went to another school.  She said that she transferred from Jiang Bei No 5.

It suddenly clicked with him that Meng Hui was not the girl he scarred when he was in the primary school because he went to No 3 and met the girl at no 3.

Suddenly he could not leave Meng Hui soon enough.

Episode 8

He dumped her by text which was too much for Meng Hui.  Her PTSD kicked in and she was her stronger character.

The feisty Meng Hui went to Shen Yu’s company and declared that she was the new CEO and Shen Yu will be her assistant.

Shen Yu felt guilty for dumping her so he allowed her to do s she thought.

Episode 9

Meng Hui was the new boss and even fired Manager Xu.

Shen Hu explained to Manager Xu what was wrong with Meng Hui and he believed that it was his fault for dumping her and therefore he will indulge her every whim.

Omg!  It is getting harder and hard to continue on watching this drama because it is getting more stupid by the minute.  Who passed the script?

It is too ridiculous to merit even suspending disbelief.

Who is a CEO that would allow someone to take over his company who has no background in management?  All she knew was how to apply make-up and mix foundation?

And at this time of the drama, he realised that she might even be the girl that he accidentally hit in the face in elementary school.  Plus the fact that he realised that he was not really into her yet, it was just guilt and a sense of responsibility that made him say that he was now her boyfriend.

Seriously?!!!

Episode 10

Saturday was the launch of their foundation created by Meng Hui but Shen Yi had a conflicting schedule.

Saturday was the same day for his elementary school class reunion and he was hoping to see the girl he injured.

Shen Yi had to make a choice and he chooses to go to the school-leaving no one to deliver the excellence of their new product.

Manager Xu sneakily took the folder containing the salient points of the new product and replaced it with top secret information about another product which has yet to be patented which was unknowingly revealed by Meng Hui who replaced Shen Yi to be in the podium when she realised that he was going to turn up.

Chaos ensued which stressed Meng Hui so much her feisty persona felt faint and turned back to the ordinary Meng Hui.

Shen Yi was more worried about Meng Hui that what was going to happen to his company but it was a little too late because Meng Hui finally knew the truth of the matter that the most important thing in Shen Yi’s life was the girl from elementary school over the foundation and over her as well. He did not really love her.

Episode 11

Due to the unpatented product scandal, LS Lappis is in trouble, so much so that Shen Yi was forced to reach out to his father for funding.

His father however would not give him the money unless he signed a contract that he will be coming back into the fold.

Shen Yi declined and left in a huff.

Meanwhile, Meng Hui did a vlog about the new foundation, which she applied on her bare scar.  The vlog garnered a lot of hit and interest for the foundation as well as gossips about her ‘ugly’ scar.

She met up with Shen Yi to look up the stars.  Meng Hui said that she knew that there is a most important person in his life and as such she would like to release him and break up.

Shen Yi said that would changed and gathered her in his arms and kissed her deeply saying that he does not want to break up.

And they did not.

Shen Yi had turned into an annoying loved-up man who was behaving as if discovered love and the very first man on earth to ever fall in love deeply.  His board meeting was hilarious.

Episode 12

Manager Xu got alcohol poisoning when she got drunk after being so jealous of Meng Hui having bagged Shen Yi.

Shen Yi went to look after her and so did Meng Hui.

Meng Hui mentioned that she had only been looking after herself since she can remember and this moved Shen Yi so much he decided that she should move in with him so there is always to look after her.

Telling her though was rather nerve-racking for him so he used an analogy of global warming and the need for the Daddy Bear to look after the penguin.

In his convoluted way she did understand what he meant when she said that the penguin wouldn’t mind being looked after by the bear.

He took her to her house and packed her things for her and took her to his house.

She was a little worried that they had to share the same room but when she saw the bedroom, there was a bunkbed for them.

Episode 13

Shen Yi’s father found out that he was living with Meng Hui and greatly disapproved.  Shen Yi however ignored him.  But the father told him that what will happen when Shen Yi finds the real girl with the scar?  He then told Shen Yi who the real girl was.

The father did not give up.  He met up with Meng Hui and gave her a cheque for $50,000 to leave Shen Yi.  She craftily accepted the money and gave it to Shen Yi.

The next morning, the father woke up with the news that his daughter-in-law, Meng Hui, had donated a very large sum of money to charity.  His friends were congratulating him for his filial and considerate daughter-in-law.

Now the horrid bit.  The ‘scarred girl’ had appeared.  She applied for an admin job at LS and was hired personally by Shen Yi when he found out who she was.

The girl was not very popular with the team because she was lazy and uses her scar and loneliness as a child.

Shen Yi was at her beck and call and even started lying to Meng Hui.

Until his stepmother who was with Meng Hui said that she had an attack.

Episode 14

Shen Yi is torn between love and guilt and guilt is winning as realised by his friends and Meng Hui.  Suddenly he would just dropped Meng Hui to help the Scar Girl at all hours of the day.

Meng Hui saw Shen Yi taking the Scar Girl to an apartment which made think that the Scar Girl was really more important to Shen Yi that she ever will.

This made her have an attack of PTSD and suddenly Shen Yi had turned to her brother than that of a boyfriend

Episode 15

Meng Hui said that Sui An was her boyfriend and Shen Yi was her brother.

Shen Yi was prevented by everybody to keep insisting that he was the boyfriend not her brother.

Shen Yi was even more anguished because Sui An seemed to be enjoying his new role as Meng Hui’s supposed boyfriend.

Sui An was actually very surprised that there Scar Girl started working at LS because Shen Yi thought that she was his scarred girl in elementary.

Sui An, of course, knew better because he had already investigated and found out who the real girl was.

It was Meng Hui all along and her mother sort of brainwashed her to forget the past.

Shen Yi was particularly overwrought with worry about Meng Hui when Scar Girl called him again for help.

This time Shen Yi told her that he could only help her during office hours but his time off work is for him and his girlfriend.

Scar Girl is actually hired by Manager Xu to pretend as the scar girl because of her jealousy of Meng Hui and Shen Yi relationship.

Manager Xu did not know that she hired and created a monster.  Scar Girl is manipulated and overbearing.  She was even able to take forcefully a jade ring from Shen Yi’s stepmother.

Episode 16

Meng Hui endeared herself to Shen Yi’s family but not so much that she was fully accepted by Shen Yi’s father to be the daughter in law.

He thinks that even if Shen Yi considers himself in love with her now, there will come a time that he will really see her with her facial scar and be forever guilty about it.  The guilt will eat away his feelings for her.

Anyway, the father was not too mean because he held a birthday party for Meng Hui and invited her friends and colleagues.

Scar Girl was there and got so jealous of Meng Hui, who is the birthday girl and of course the centre of attention.

Scar Girl asked Shen Yi to speak with her and Meng Hui encouraged him to go.  Scar Girl then used emotional blackmail to say that she wanted to be his girlfriend, she wanted someone because she never had anyone before, not a boyfriend and not even friends.

Shen Yi, at this time, was very firm with her.  He told her that He has a girlfriend who he adores and the only thing he can do for Scar Girl was to become her friend and mentor.

Scar Girl was so annoyed she zeroed in on to Meng Hui, who she pushed into the swimming pool.

While Shen Yi and Sui An were swimming towards Meng Hui to the rescue, Scar Girl continued smirking in glee which was noticed by Wei Lei, who immediately went and pushed Scar Girl into the pool as well.

Wei Lei loudly said that Scar Girl’s scar seemed to disappear in water.

Everyone now knew she was but a fake.

Meanwhile, Meng Hui, having recovered from her PTSD for now and knowing that Shen Yi’s father does not approve of her left the mansion and possibly even Shen Yi.

Shen Yi found her in the bus shelter while he was soaked by the rain.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Shen Yi’s father learned that his wife had packed up and left because she was so annoyed with his continued bullheadedness regarding Shen Yi and Meng Hui’s relationship.

Episode 17

Scar Girl had left LS; everyone was happy to see her go.

Shen Yi had made up his mind to confess all to Meng Hui that he was Zeng Jue the one who accidentally attack her in elementary.

Again Meng Hui misunderstood who Zeng Jue was, she thought it was Sui An who tagged along with Shen Yi to give him moral support.

Sun An immediately confessed that it was him, he was Zeng Jue.

Meng Hui forgave Sui An immediately because he was important to Shen Yi, who had gathered all his confidence to finally confess but came to naught in the end.

Sui An convinced Shen Yi to forget about him being Zeng Jue.

Shen Yi was persuaded in the end after Sui An said that it would be better for Meng Hui as she categorically said that she will never forgive Zeng Jue, ever (except if he was Sui An).

Anyway, Shen Yi made Meng Hui his raison d’etre. Everything she wanted, she also to say and she gets it.

He even told Manager Xu that he will be looking for a position for her at his father’s company because she was too much of a handful not only to Meng Hui but to their colleagues.  She was a dark cloud in the company, no one can relax.

Meng Hui took a very nervous Shen Yi to meet her mother.

Shen Yi was so nervous because the mother said he seemed familiar.  In his nervousness, he preempted everything that Meng Hui’s mother he thought would ask.  He said that they were not dating but will be getting married, he doesn’t mind whether they have a boy or a girl, and he would give all his fortune, including LS, shares in his father’s company and his own investments.

The confused mother said that she was glad to hear that he values her daughter but what she really wanted to hear was what he wanted to eat.

Meng Hui was pleasantly surprised when she got back to their apartment one day to find that it has been redecorated everything she likes and the bunk bed is gone replaced by a double bed.

He then proposed to her very extravagantly romantic with fireworks and fairy lights and a beautiful diamond ring.

She can’t wait to tell her friends Atao and Wei Lei who got inspired and seduced their menfolks as well.

Episode 18

They decided to officially marry after they almost knocked everything off in their apartment when they got carried away on their way to the sofa to give in to their passion.  LOL

But in the end, they were so bruised and battered that their passion fizzled out.  Meng Hui said that they can’t anyway as they are not married yet.

What she wants she gets so Shen Yi told her to wear a white shirt and get her resident permit.  He then took her to the registry office to get married.

Meng Hui was hesitant at first but she saw how excited Shen Yi was so she eventually agreed.

Wei Lei took advantage of Sui An.  I am not really sold on this relationship.  I feel that Sui An is much too good for Wei Lei, who is a C-List celebrity.

Anyway, while Sui An was in the shower, his phone rang and then a text was sent.  Sui An saw the text about Sui An being complicit to Shen Yi’s deceit towards Meng Yui.

Suddenly Wei Lei did not want to have sex with the fragrant, newly showered Sui An anymore.  Instead, she got dressed and bent on confronting Shen Yi as his office.

When she got there she was met with an atmosphere of celebration.  Meng Hui and Shen yi’s wedding.

She stopped herself telling a happy Meng Hui about the lie but she warned Shen Yi to never hurt Meng Hui.

Unfortunately, this was a thing that was waiting to happen because Meng Hui found out Shen Yi’s secret for herself. She found the pink backpack she gave him as a little girl pre-scar.

Episode 19

Shen Yi and Meng Hui are arranging their big wedding.

The wedding planner said that he would take everyone to dinner but he does not have the fund.  Shen Yi said that was ok, Sui An will pay.

During the dinner, both Sui An and Shen Yi got drunk and everything came out.  They revealed the truth who was the real Zeng Jue.  Shen Yi said that he was.

Meanwhile the meddling Wei Lei found the many gifts hidden in Sui An drawers in his office.  She saw a jigsaw puzzle with only a part of a girl’s head.  Thinking that Sui An was heaving an affair and would not believe him when he tried to explain that the presents were for the wedding of Shen Yi and Meng Hui.

Wei Lei put all the presents in a bag and took them to Shen Yi who confirmed what Sui An had said.  Among the present was a school name tag.

Episode 20

Shen Yi felt betrayed by Sui An.  He said that he finally understood how Meng Hui felt.  He was not sure anymore whether Sui An’s friendship and brotherly love were real or fake.  It seemed Sui An had something to do with the accident of long ago or rather that he had always known who the girl was and he never told Shen Yi.  The name tag was that of Meng Hui.

Shen Yi and Sui An ended up fighting in the changing room while they were trying the groom and best man wedding suits.

Wei Lei went to apologise to Sui An but he told her that they had to calm down their relationship as he can’t be dealing with her mercurial behavior at the moment.

Meanwhile, it got really stupid again, going round and round.

The stress drove Meng Hui again into one of her attacks. This time she is Meng Hui, a 35-year old woman in the year 2030, who had been married to Shen Yi for ten years and absolutely hated his guts and wanted a divorce.

Boring! ~Tedious!  Seriously, just divorce and end this drama here.  yawnnnnn

Seriously, Sui An and Shen Yi are just too good for their deranged women love partners.    Here is an idea!  Why not just end this drama as a BL romance?!!! LMAO!
