Plato arguably the greatest ancient Greek philosopher.

I read somewhere that Plato is one of those people who eat to live rather than someone who live to eat.

According to him, the most important part of the meal is the conversation rather than the food.

He would have made an easy-going dinner guest.  Beans on toast would probably been sufficient for him.
