Episode 1
Aww, it is melodramatic already and it is only the first few minutes. They are so cute. Jing Boran has the sexiest voice and he looks gorgeous. Seven is so cute and perky as always.
Anyway it started in 2018…
Gui Xiao learned that Lu Yan Chen was back. She went to find him at the petrol station but when he saw her, he just looked like he did not recognise her.
Gui Xiao asked him if he still remembers her to which he said, he does but said nothing more and left with his friend and comrade. It looks like he is in the army.
Gui Xiao was very upset and disappointed because 11 years ago, they were dating and as closed and loved up as any teenager.
She called a cousin of Yan Chen to ask for his number. Though Gui Xiao was given the number, the cousin berated her for how she treated Yan Chen all those years ago. She broke up with him and would not speak to him no matter how much Yan Chen begged to see her. He spent his leave from the army to try contacting her but she was not interested.
Anyway, though Gui Xiao had the number, she did not call him. But it looks like Yan Chen was still interested because he secretly went to her house and watched her while she was at the veranda.
She did call him but it was two years later when she went to Qining with friends who were on a business trip.
Qining is one snowy place. Their car got stolen, so Gui Xiao called Yan Chen who happened to be stationed at Qining.
Though he was glad to see her, he was so cool. He was as cold as the driven snow. He was such a help with tracing the car. They found it among other cars stolen by some gang.
Cai Ya Ya, the owner of the stolen car, invited Gui Xiao for dinner as a thank you. When they got to the restaurant, there was a boy at their reserved table. The boy said that his father was just making a call.
Gui Xiao was heartbroken, Yan Chen has a son.
She was staring into space when Yan Chen saw her. She told him that she just met his son. But the man behind Yan Chen said that it looked like his son has been causing trouble again. He said the boy is his son. He also said that Yan Chen had resigned from his job and will be returning to Beijing.
Yan Chen is or was a SWAT Captian specialising in Bomb Detonation. He can detonate a bomb in 30 second record.
Just after leaving the restaurant, they were accosted by 13 men who were members of the carjackers.
There is now a glimmer of flirtation between Gui Xiao and Yan Chen.
I am going to love this drama.
Episode 2
Yan Chen’s comrades and Cai, Gui Xiao’s friend, matched make them together. So Gui Xiao ended up meeting Yan Chen again. He was so surprised to see her and was rather short-tempered with her so she told him that this was the last time they are going to meet because there would be no next time.
Yan Chen remembered that they broke up when he refused to answer her calls and she said no next time and she meant it at that time.
She was so annoyed and was just leaving when Yan Chen ran after her and told her that Qin Xiao Nan in transferring to Beijing. He wanted information on how to go about it.
So she went back to the diner to talk with him. The lady at the diner put a candle on their table which made Gui Xiao giggle as everyone was making an effort to give them a romantic time.
Anyway, she told him and Qin Ming Yu what to do and the requirement for the boy’s school transfer.
Later on, Yan Chen called his mother to ask her to give lodging to the boy but his mother refused to have anything to do with it.
Gui Xiao gladly said that she will look after the boy.
Episode 3
Gui Xiao took Qin Xiao Nan to Beijing with her. The boy is the most behaved, most responsible child ever. Gu Xiao would come home and find her plush apartment almost in darkness and Xiao Nan said that he only use the light in his room to conserve electricity and money.
Xiao Nan asked her if she was Yan Chen’s, first love, she just changed the subject.
She started remembering Yan Chen’s back story. Yan Chen who was called Lu Chen then came from divorced parents.
His mother remarried a policeman who was so kind and treated Lu Chen and his brother as if they were his own. But the policeman died.
Having no money to provide for her children, the mother remarried her ex-husband, completely forgetting that he was a psycho.
Anyway, during the GaoKao (college entrance exam), the father found out that Lu Chen had applied to the police academy, so he beat up Lu Chen and locked him up for three days so he can’t take the exam. The father was still unreasonably jealous of the dead policeman.
So especially when he is drunk, he uses Lu Chen as his punching bag.
Lu Chen had to hide his bruises wearing long sleeves whatever the weather.
Episode 4
This is a watch again and again episode.
This is the cute sweet bit when they first got together in school.
OMG, Jing Bo Ran is utterly gorgeous. You will fall in love with him.
LuChen/YanChen repeated the year so he could sit the GaoKao and enroll in the police academy secretly.
He managed it but it meant, he can’t go home and had to stay in the garage which is actually pretty comfortable.
As they are in a Long Distance Relationship, they promised to be true to each other and never break up.
I really love them.
Episode 5
This is the opposite of the previous episode. This is heartbreaking.
It is back to 2022.
Gu Xiao just found out from Han Dong that Lu Chen got engaged to Zhao Min Shan. Minshan was the one who broke Han Dong and Meng Shao Shian’s relationship
Gu Xiao did not know that Lu Chen was forced to marry Min Shan to pay off his father’s debt from the Zhao family
Minshan was recently divorced and to save face she must marry again.
Lu Chen was very upset about it too and asked Gu Xiao if she still loves him but how can she say that she does when he was to be married in a month’s time.
Anyway, Gu Xiao was heartbroken. She called her cousin, Shao Shian for some pep talk.
Shao Shian told her that it was time to move on from her feelings for Lu Chen. It has been ten. years since they broke up
Gu Xiao had to agree.
Episode 6
Lu Chen told Gu Xiao that he will sort out the marriage issue with Minshan.
Qin Xiao Nan was really annoyed with Lu Chen for letting Auntie Gu Xiao down. Xiao Nan said he really likes Gu Xiao.
Lu Chen told Xiao Nan that he was not allowed to like his wife. Aww
Episode 7
Lu Chen sorts out finance to manage the debt with the Zhaos. He then told them that he cannot marry Minshan. His already drunk father went mental calling Lu Chen a useless unfilial son.
Episode 8
Minshan told him that she still wanted to marry him but he said he had never had any feelings for her, never ever. He signed a debt management contract with the Zhaos.
He told Gu Xiao that he was free. They smiled at one another and are now unofficially back together.
Episode 9
Lu Chen is giddily in love while Gu Xiao decided to take her time this time.
Meng Xiao Shan warned Gu Xiao to be wary of Lu Chen’s parents as they are not the nicest folks.
Anyway, Lu Chen is really serious about Gu Xiao but realised that they don’t really know much about their current circumstances so he proposed that they should discuss these the next time they have time. Gu Xiao was sweetly curious about what he was talking about so he enlightened her that his new job is different from before and he does not know what she does or what kind of job she was doing. He said he will also discuss with her his assets.
Meng Xiao Shan who overheard Lu Chen commented that he sounded serious about just casual dating.
Episode 10
Gu Xiao was at the airport bound for Anhui when her father called who was already waiting for her at the airport.
They had a very awkward meeting, like two strangers. Her father told her that he would help her buy her own house but she turned him down saying she likes the apartment she was currently renting. He then said he will buy her a new car, but she said she just got a new one. She then pretended that her flight is imminent and left him.
Poor Lu Chen and Gu Xiao could not find a place where they were not interrupted. Since they got unofficially reconciled, they hardly had time to kiss.😭😭
Lu Chen though saw that Gu Xiao lives in a lovely apartment but as Qin Xiao Nan was with them, it was a bit crowded.🤣🤣🤣
They drove back to Lu Chen’s auto repair garage but then his father turned up so Lu Chen took Gu Xiao to the billiard club for a bit of nostalgia. Gu Xiao recalled that they broke up a few times but Lu Chen said technically they never break because it takes two to break up and he never broke up with her. Aww but before they could get up into any skinship, the security guard interrupted.
Episode 11
As Gu Xiao has flexi-time at work, she agreed to escape with Lu Chen to Qining.
A rather broody Duan Ruo offered to look after Xiaonan while they were away. I bet Duan Ruo would end up with Qin Ming Yu.
As Lu Chen and Gu ‘Xiao were loading their stuff in Lu Chen’s jeep, Meng Xiao Shan advised her cousin to take protection because it would be harder to break up it there was a child.
Gui Xiao just giggled excitedly.
In the car, Gui Xiao discussed Lu Chen’s debt management. Lu Chen said that he will pay it and then he will start saving to marry her.
Gui Xiao got more excited
Qining is really snowy. Watching the deep snow, I could almost feel the cold.
But Lu Chen and Gui Xiao got hot. They kissed to go inside their beautiful tipi. They fell on the bed and Gu Xiao felt the bullet scarring on Lu Chen’s back. She started crying that she could have lost him.
But Lu Chen told her that the scar is like a badge for the SWAT. Everyone has a scar.
Lu Chen got so hot, he left GuXiao to sleep alone.
But before daybreak, she woke to find Lu Chen, who was drinking hot milk. He told her to be quiet as they watch the Chen Xiao, the breaking of dawn.
They are totally loved up but then later on, Lu Chen received a call from Gui Yan Shan, father of Gui Xiao
Episode 12
Their idyllic time at snowy Qining was interrupted by a call from Gui Yan Shan.
Gui Yan Shan demanded that Lu Chen break up with Gui Xiao pronto. Actually, Gui Yan Shan was not that unreasonable because he said that the reason he opposes the relationship was not even because of the nature of Lu Chen’s job but because of his family. Lu Chen’s father will drag Gui Xiao down.
Gui Yan Shan then spoke to his daughter who told him in not so many words to mind his own business, she is grown up and will live her life. She also mentioned that she was the one who initiated contact again with Lu Chen and then begged him to start with her over again
Thank goodness that Lu Chen did not take Gui Yan Shan’s call to heart. He loves Gui Xiao and that is all that matters but then his job required him to dispose of a bomb in a shopping centre without telling Gui Xiao what was he up to. He did tell her often enough that being in the SWAT, one must not divulge anything even to your nearest and dearest.
Episode 13
Gui Xiao had a first-hand experience of how it would be like married to a SWAT. It was frightening. It was worrisome not to know what your other half is up to but still, Gui Xiao only wanted to be wife to Lu Chen.
They discuss it and Gui Xiao accepts that anything could happen to him. She told him that it would be heartbreaking if she is not the one to claim his body for burial. She wanted to be his grieving widow, visiting his grave annually. Lu Chen understood and agreed to get married as soon as possible.
This is actually a cute and romantic episode.
Episode 14
Lu Chen and Gui Xiao were at the Qining army barracks. The guys were welcoming to Gui Xiao and took her to their hearts as their sister-in-law. They love hearing stories about Lu Chen and Gui Xiao because they were curious why their supermodel 🤣🤣🤣 captain never had girlfriends and remained single throughout the years.
While Lu Chen was buying breakfast for Gui Xiao, the guys asked her why she broke up with their gorgeous captain.
They were too young then. She thought breaking up was easy. She could not take that Lu Chen was too wrapped up in his vocation that being with her was just snatches of an hour here and there. It was also almost impossible to reach him by phone. So she felt like not really have a boyfriend especially when she has some personal issues she wanted to discuss with someone close to her.
Lu Chen overheard this and was saddened by what Gui Xiao went through.
But his job is really hectic and time-consuming which left Gui Xiao at her own devices. But this time she is mature and understood that she shares Lu Chen with the army and the country.
Episode 15
There was a heartwarming scene where they visited the widow of the old captain who sacrificed his life for Lu Chen.
The lady welcome them excitedly and when she found out that Lu Chen and Gui Xiao are engaged to be married, she came out with a pair of beautiful gold bangles she and her husband had been saving for Lu Chen when he gets married. This is so touching it really made me cry.
When they were leaving her, you can see the love there because Lu Chen found the parents he never had from the old captain and his wife.
They were back in Beijing and staying at Gui Xiao’s beautiful apartment. Lu Chen is so hyper, he can’t just sit still and relax. Instead, he asked Gui Xiao for the manuals of all her appliances. When she could not produce them, Lu Chen said that the only way for him was to dismantle the washing machine and other appliances to find out how they work.
Gui Xiao told him not to dare because they were expensive. They were interrupted by a phone call from Lu Chen’s family. Lu Chen’s father was once again creating chaos while drunk.
Lu Chen went to see what was happening and found his sister, brother-in-law, and a couple of police who gave a warning to the father that next time they won’t be too lenient. Lu Chen told his sister and brother-in-law to leave. His brother-in-law should not be involved with his father’s shenanigans because he has a reputation to uphold, being a school principal.
Anyway, Lu Chen told his father that he was getting married. He will pay the father’s debt but he does not want his father to have to do with his life anymore and his family.
Back with Gui Xiao, he told her that he was willing to give up his job for her but she told him that she would actually love being married to a policeman.
Meanwhile, Duan Rou is loving looking after Qin Xiaonan.
Episode 16
Duan Rou became curious about Qin Ming Yu. She even asked Gui Xiao what he looks like.
Gui Xiao said he is tall, dark, and handsome.
Anyway, Gui Xiao’s father came to get her at work because he wanted to take her to her mother who just arrived from abroad.
Her mother is elegant and gorgeous and said that she had come home to finalise the divorce with Gui Yan Shan.
This brought back the memory of breaking up with Lu Chen
I love Jing Boran and Seven’s acting. Their heartbreak brought tears to my eyes.
Anyway, back then her father and mother were always fighting because her father had an affair and wanted a divorce.
She wanted support from Lu Chen and to talk about her family concerns but whenever she called him, his phone was always off or if he answered, he doesn’t have much to say except he was too tired from work and training and wanted to rest. Their calls became more intermittent. In frustration, she told him that they should break up. Lu Chen was shocked but he agreed.
Lu Chen was absolutely heartbroken. Crying in the snow, trying to make it silent so that his comrades won’t hear. Top-notch acting.
Episode 17
Lu Chen and Gui Xiao are so loved up and determined to be together against all odds, mostly because of family.
Gui Xiao took it upon herself to make the engagement official, at least between them, by unhygienically and dangerously putting it in her mouth and surprising Lu Chen with it. She wanted to pass it from mouth to mouth through torrid kissing.
Lu Chen did feel a little bit emasculated as he should be the one buying the ring for her but she opined that he was debt-ridden. Anyway, he promised her that he will buy her a bigger rock one day.
I think she is lucky because Lu Chen is not only good at cooking, he cleans, washes clothes and always walks like a supermodel. Give him a corridor and he will make it a runaway.❤️❤️❤️🤣🤣
Lu Chen can’t seem to rest still because he gets up in the middle of the night to tinker on Gui Xiao’s car engine.
Episode 18
Every time Lu Chen broached the subject of going to visit Gui Xiao’s family, she changes the subject. It happened a few times so Lu Chen asked if she was really serious about marrying him.
Gui Xiao finally confessed that she was scared that they would bully him. No one was ever allowed to bully him except her. He loved her explanation but still insisted that he had to meet her parents so it should be sooner rather than later as they are getting married.
Later on, Gui Xiao learned from her mother that her father did meet Lu Chen once when Gui Xiao was first dating him. Her father told Lu Chen to break up with Gui Xiao as he was not good enough for her.
Gui Yan Shan was once a police cadet.
As to Lu Chen’s family, his father was still making trouble to the point that Lu Chen and his sibling asks their mother if a divorce is a better choice than married to their hooligan father. The mother is a helpless stupid waif who allowed the father to beat up her children. The children should divorce themselves from their parents.
Anyway, Lu Chen is back at work.
Episode 19
This episode is one to repeat over and over again. It is so cute and heartwarming.
Anyway, the season had changed and the pollen count was rather high.
Gui Xiao who has hay fever went to the hospital for a check-up and prescription. The doctor asked if she was married, and though she said she was engaged, she was rather puzzled by the question.
The doctor was also rather reluctant in prescribing her normal medicine. Then Gui Xiao heard a bombshell, according to her blood test, she could be pregnant, the doctor said. She was advised to go to the ob-gyn for confirmation.
Gui Xiao was so shocked and too excited. After treating herself to a feast of everything she went home and excitedly texted Lu Chen but at the end she could not tell him her condition, she decided to keep it a surprise as he was due to a break after a month of working at Tianwei (?)
She was like a limpet to Lu Chen when he got back home. She was all over him while he cooks. She found a wedding ring in his pocket and when she queried it, he put it on her finger and then showed her the matching pair that he was already wearing. He told her, in not so many words, that he knew she has a habit of checking his crown jewels while he was cooking 🤣🤣🤣 so he knew where she was likely to find the ring. Surprise!!!
This was it, Gui Xiao was bursting to tell him that she might be pregnant.
Poor Lu Chen was so shocked, Gui Xiao thought he was not happy and ready for a baby. But then Lu Chen turned soppy and indulged her every whim.
You can tell Lu Chen is going to be a good father.
Episode 20
Lu Chen accompanied Gui Xiao for her check-up. She is pregnant and had a scan. Wow, she was advised to secure a pregnancy permit. Interesting.
Lu Chen treated her so preciously and told her to move carefully and keep away from any possible danger including drinking from a thin-rimmed glass. He replaced her delicate glasses with more robust ones so she does not accidentally injure and swallow broken glass pieces.
But alas they had to part because of the nature of his job. He was then told that he will be deployed to a farther station because of a SWAT instructor shortage. For the first time, he felt reluctance but he can’t refuse so he was rather wary when he told Gui Xiao of his new assignment.
Gui Xiao was cheerful and accepted it without any rancour.
He will be away for a month and leaving the next morning. On the way to the airport, he learned that there will be a delay in the flight. For the first time, a flight delay is a blessing as it opened a window for Lu Chen to register his marriage to Gui Xiao first before leaving.
So went to get Gui Xiao and proceeded to the registry office.
Aww, they are officially married. They are legally documented.
Meng Xiao Shan is arranging their wedding ceremony.
Episode 21
Right after the marriage registration, Lu Chen left Gui Xiao. He was going to be away for a month working on a large area for housing development in Gonghai, which turned out to be in a minefield. The workers dug up many unexploded bombs used to stop tanks. The town mayor needed a bomb expert to oversee the proper handling and disposal of this incendiary device.
The month was extended. Gui Xiao was missing Lu Chen so much. Their communication was not great because the mobile signal was next to non-existent. He had to climb the highest peak of the area so he could speak briefly with Gui Xiao. Anyway, Gui Xiao told him that she was going to visit him.
Gui Xiao convinced her friend, Duan Rou, to go with her. Who is looking after Qin Xiaonan?!!!
It so happened that Qin MIngyu was visiting Lu Chen at the same time. Duan Rou had been curious about Mingyu and vice versa.
It was a happy romantic reunion between Lu Chen and Gui Xiao while Mingyu and Duan Rou were awkwardly sweet.
It turned out Mingyu doesn’t have much love experience despite having been divorced. He told Duan Rou and Gui Xiao that his marriage was from a blind date. He married the first one who said that she did not mind what he does but it turned out she minded a great deal so they divorce.
Gui Xiao confidentially told Lu Chen that Duan Rou quite liked Mingyu to which Lu Chen said that it seemed the feeling is mutual.
Anyway, Lu Chen pampered Gui Xiao. There is no one more loved up than these two. Gui Xiao told Lu Chen that giving birth has its own complication so if something happens to her she does not want him to have the other worries of sorting out their finances so she told him her passwords and codes to her safe, cards, investment portfolio and also the retirement fund she made for her mother.
Gui Xiao noticed how sad Lu Chen was looking at her but told him she was sure there was nothing bad that would happen to her. She then hugged him tightly. Aww
Episode 22
Mingyu asked Duan Rou where she would like to go. She asked if Qining is nearby. Mingyu told her that it was not too far, about 30 minutes drive.
Duan Rou wanted to go. They were camel riding when Gui Xiao and Lu Chen turned up too. Lu Chen told Gui Xiaon said that in her condition, camel riding is not suitable, he promised her that he would take her camel riding another time.
Duan Rou and Mingyu are getting on like a house on fire. Which made everyone excited for them.
They ended up camping in the barren mountains. Some of the SWAT team also turned up and were happily curious that Mingyu seemed to have gotten himself a beautiful girlfriend.
Meanwhile in Beijing, Xiaonan’s carer circle had gotten even bigger. He is now being looked after by Meng XiaoShan and Qin Feng.
Episode 23
Both Gui Xiao and Duan Rou had a romantic time with Lu Chen and Mingyu, respectively. Mingyu already told Duan Rou that he will show her more of Qingyu next time she visits.
They are so cute. Love this episode but it ended tragically.
When Gui Xiao and Duan Rou had left, Lu Chen went back to the reality of his job. Mr Shen, the town governor who invited him to Gonghai was very supportive that Lu Chen takes care of himself so his wife is happy.
They were talking about the current trend of being players in love. Mr Shen said that he was glad that he found a woman who loves Lu Chen wholeheartedly and does not mind too much about the nature of his job. He said Gui Xiao is a rarity.
Mr Shen then left Lu Chen to finish his lunch but he did not get to because there was a loud explosion that sounded like thunder. But it was the truck full of the dug-up explosive and Mr. Shen was nearby.
Poor Mr Shen did not survive.
Episode 24
Lu Chen really felt bad about Mr Shen. it reminded him of the Old Captain. As his mission at Gonghai was basically over as the disposal of all of the explosives had been turned over to the Explosive Division, Lu Chen went to Qining to train with his old comrade while he was waiting to escort the body of Mr Shen to his family.
It was a sad and happy time at Qining. The commander who found out that Lu Chen had gotten married and a baby was on the way, he said that they would probably not see Lu Chen regularly anymore. Lu Chen promised that he would spend his annual vacation in Qining but the commander said that was not right. He should spend time with the missus and child.
Anyway, as he was leaving Qining, he met Gui Yan Shan, who told him that he knew he had married his daughter. They had a sort of brief bonding where Gui Yan Shan reminded Lu Chen that since he is now married, he must take particular care going to his mission. Lu Chen was happy that he was accepted at last.
Talking about being accepted, Gui Xiao was with her mother when she received a call from Lu Chen’s sister. Lu Chen’s mother was in the hospital and the sister-in-law more or less pass the buck to Gui Xiao to look after the mother.
Gui Xiao and her mother were there for the mother.
Gui Xiao’s mother gave Lu Chen’s mother some food for thought. She said that being divorced doesn’t mean you have to be alone and lonely. You can make friends and be free to do what you wanted.
Finally, Lu Chen is back.
Episode 25
Lu Chen was back but after making dinner for Gui Xiao and Xiaonan, he left again to see his mother and father.
He told his mother to divorce his father if she wanted. He made a testimonial for the divorce which his mother signed.
When he gave the same document to his father, though his father was calm, he refused to sign it before talking to his wife.
He made all sorts of promises to his deluded wife who was only too happy to start over again.
Meanwhile, Gui Xiao’s mother and father had finalised their divorce.
It took a while for Lu Chen to get back to Gui Xiao but then when he got back, he made her waiting time worth her while. He romanced her all night but she can’t get enough of him and followed him even in the shower like a lost puppy. 🤣🤣🤣
Episode 26
Lu Chen and Gui Xiao’s marriage is going swimmingly fine. Gui Xiao had met her parent-in-laws and it seems that Lu Chen’s father was really trying his best to be a better human being.
Anyway, Gui Xiao’s in in her last weeks of pregnancy but there is a bit of complication because she had anemia since she was a little girl. She also has hyperthyroidism which is common in pregnancy. She was also missing Lu Chen who will not be able to be by her side on her due date.
Then something happened which is all leading to a climactic next episode.
Qin Mingyu was injured and was hospitalised and a metal plate was put in his legs but still kept it secret from his son and a rather worried and suspicious Duan Ruo.

Gui Xiao was just settling at the hospital ready to give birth when Xu Yao, her doctor, told her that her father was in the hospital and wanted to talk to her.
Gui Yan Shan has come to inform her that Lu Chen had been injured pretty badly. He told Gui Xiao that he will fly her to Qining in the morning.
Poor Gui Xiao was worried sick so Xu Yao reminded her that she had to be strong for the baby.
The next day, they got to Qining but still at the airport, she started her contraction. Despite being in so much pain, she went to see first the comatose Lu Chen. She told him to wake up.
She was taken to the delivery room and had a natural birth. She had a baby girl but Guo Xiao was so worried about Lu Chen, all she wanted was to see him. Xu Yao assures her that he will take her to Lu Chen once he was awake.
A few hours later, Xu Yao took her to see Lu Chen in a wheelchair. Lu Chen was very weak and can hardly open his eyes but still, he was so happy to see Gui Xiao.
Gui Xiao was concerned that Lu Chen kept falling asleep when she had so much to say. She was told that it was natural as Lu Chen was verging on a life-and-death condition not so long ago.
She told Lu Chen that they had a baby girl.
Episode 28
Gui Xiao and Lu Chen are so loved up that the birth of their baby girl was a little bit underwhelming.🤣🤣🤣. Probably this has something to do with the actors not being parents yet in real life.😉
Anyway, they named the baby Chu Yang, which has apparently something to do with Chen Xiao and dawn.
The Qining team visited Lu Chen at the hospital. Lu Chen encouraged the team to tease Qin Mingyu about his love life. Lu Chen used MInyu’s phone to call Duan Rou and passed the phone to Mingyu who was under duress at first to make it official with Duan Rou.
They were expecting Mingyu to confess his admiration to Duan Rou but the straight-talking Mingyu not only shocked his teammates but also Duan Rou when he asked her to marry him.
Duan Rou said she had to think about it but once Mingyu started he would not stop until he got an answer. He told her that if accepts him, he will be hers for life, he will never ever look at other women and would give all his salary to her.
For some reason, Duan Rou agreed. Mingyu became a hero in the eyes of his teammates.
I must say Lu Chen recuperated double time, no ten times faster than ordinary humans.🤣🤣🤣. His face was free of wounds, swelling, and bruises within a couple of days. I have to say, it takes two weeks for me to get rid of allergies on my face/skin. What is Lu Chen’s secret🤣🤣🤣🤣

Episode 29
I must say episode 28 & 29 are not really well thought out. So many inconsistencies. The script does not really make sense, the acting is cute but not convincing and the wardrobe is a little off.
Anyway, after 2½ years, Lu Chen and Gui Xiao held their wedding ceremony. This length of time was explained later by Lu Chen when he said that he wanted to give Gui Xiao a wedding after he was completely debt-free. Now he!
Boran and Seven made a really stunning couple and were rather believable as lovers.
Anyway, Chuyang seemed not to know Lu Chen and Gui Xiao as her parents🤣🤣🤣. Xiaonan had not changed at all after 2½ years😭😭😭. It looks like Duan Rou despite being engaged/married to Mingyu does not have custody of Xiaonan because Lu Chen asked Duan Rou to look after Xiaonan while they were on honeymoon.
Then the most surprising of all is that the fashionista, Meng XiaoShan was wearing the same dress she had 2½ years ago. 😭😭😭 How likely is that?!!!
The wedding ceremony itself is beautiful with a beautiful bride and groom in a beautiful sunny, flower-strewn location.
Lu Chen elaborated why the title of the drama is Road Home. Apparently, Gui Xiao means the way back home at the dawn of the morning.
Rather noticeable, Gui Xiao’s father was absent for such an important occasion.
There was a sort of redemption scene for Lu Chen’s father. When he was complimented for bringing up such an honourable son, he said that it had nothing to do with him. It was his uncle, who was a good man who taught him what is right and what is wrong. Unfortunately, his uncle (stepfather) died early.
Anyway, the honeymoon started with walking down memory lane. Lu Chen took Gui Xiao to the places familiar to their younger selves, like the eatery they often went to, the school, etc. It culminated at the gasoline station where they met again. This is where Gui Xiao asked Lu Chen if he still remember her after having parted ten years ago. Lu Chen said that he will remember her until she had turned to ashes. Aww
Episode 30
This is really more of a bonus episode. It is a look back at their relationship during their university years. They fell in love instantly with one another.
He pursued her rather subtly but she noticed and when he was ready to go official, he asked her if she likes him.
She did and why wouldn’t she he was gorgeous being the hunk of the school while she, Gui Xiao, was the brain box.
They were always meant to be.
Their love defied time, space, and distance. Though they had broken up, they never look to any other person to fill their aching void because only each other can do that. And that was what episodes 1-29 were about.🤣🤣🤣
I love this drama and this bonus/last episode is really tempting me to rewatch the whole drama all over again.
