Plot Summary
I love love love this drama. Totally recommend it. It is worth a watch. There are lot of chemistry between the main leads.
The drama is well written and well acted and the cinematography and location are really decent. Some scenes are very poignant.
Cheng Xia had been in loved with her childhood sweetheart, Chen She Chuan, for the last seven years. She tried to make him aware of her feelings for him but he was blind to it, until one night he got rather drunk.
Xiaxia was tempted by the sleepy Shechuan so she kissed him. She reasoned that she deserve a kiss after all the simping she did to him for the last seven years. Though the kiss was light, this woke up Chen She Chuan. He kissed her back but then he pushed her away and told her that they were best friends. He had only seen her as a friend and romance never entered his mind.
Xiaxia was gutted and humiliated.
Her humiliation turned into heartbreak the next time she saw him. Xiaxia’s mother who was friends with Chen She Chuan’s mother dragged Xiaxia to have dinner at the Chens.
Chen She Chuan then introduced Li Yining as his girlfriend. It got more embarrassing for Xiaxia because her mother was so happy for the new couple and then commented that Xiaxia is hopeless who was in a deadend job as a small time novelist and no boyfriend to boot.
That night, Xiaxia drowned her sorrow and mortification in alcohol. She was hangover the next morning but she staggered out to get rid of rubbish when she met Xu Jing Xiao, who was another childhood friend.
Jingxiao was very caring and gave her medicine for her hangover and told her to rest. Looking at the handsome Jing Xiao, Xia Xia felt rejuvinated. Jing Xiao seemed to exude brightness.
Anyway, they said goodbye after Xiaxia promised to treat Jingxiao to dinner to return his favour for the medicine.
Chen She Chuan invited Xia Xia to a meal with his girlfriend, who turned out to be rather kind and friendly. Shechuan also invited another guy to pair off with Xiaxia. He reckoned that a boyfriend might cheer Xiaxia up.
The guy was horrible and disrespectful. He looked down on Xiaxia with her non-job as a novelist. Li Yining was as angry as Xia Xia with the guy.
Xiaxia got a call from Jingxiao who told her that he was picking her up. Xiaxia hurried out. She Chuan curriously followed her out and saw her getting into Jingxiao’s car. This made him feel uncomfortable.
He did not fancy Xiaxia but he did not really want others fancying her. So he became the third wheel to the budding romance of Xia Xia and Jingxiao. The romance between the leads are full of sweet torrid kissing. Lovely.
I have to admit, I felt sorry for Chen She Chuan in the end because it was too late for him to realise that he loved Xiaxia all along. She was already taken and she was not looking back.
