Two young brides were to get married at the same day but got on the wrong carriages.

Episode 1

This first episode is very watchable with cute and gorgeous cast.  Thank goodness this drama is being shown despite the male lead being embroiled in a scandal that made him lie low for a few months now.  To be honest the scandal is not that shocking that it would make you reach for the smelling salt.

Anyway, enough of the gossip.

After Mei Shiqing being in a skirmish with the young bandit leader, Xiao Bao Ye, Shiqing returned to his father pretending to have gone blind.

For the record, he would have probably suffered a lot more if not for a young girl saving him in his runaway carriage.

Wanzi who has a Do Bong Soon complex ran after Shiqing’s carriage which was pulled by spooked horses.  Wanzi with her inhuman strength held on to the carriage to stop it.

When she went to check the passenger, instead of thanking her, he told her to go away but not before she had a trope falling over him and landing her lips exactly against Shiqing’s lips.

Anyway, she told him that he can rest assured because she does not fancy him, her heart solely belongs to a black robe superhero called Xia Lin, who unsurprisingly was Shiqing’s other persona, a black-robed, masked crusader.

When he got home, Shan Shao was told by his parents that a marriage had been arranged for him.

He has to marry the princess, Li Ling Yao.

Meanwhile, at the hideout of the bandits, Xiao Bao Ye was told by an uncle that it was time for him to settle down.

It so happened there was a girl with good strong hips who was ready to marry him and bear his children.

This girl was Wanzi, who became collateral to her father’s gambling debts.

Episode 2

The two brides stayed in the same inn.

Li Ying Yao, the princess, found out that her groom had gone blind.  She was not happy about it so she hid in another room.

She met a girl, who said that she was running away from her wedding but realised that she could not as her father’s life depends on her getting married.

So she went to a room, which she did not notice was the one allotted to the princess.

She sat in the bed resigned to marrying a bandit.

Then a girl came to get her and helped her aboard a bridal carriage.

She was then delivered to her groom who was blindfolded.

They had the wedding ceremony and she was surprised to be referred to as a princess.  She realised she was marrying the wrong groom.  She tried to extricate her hand from the groom but it was too late.

They were ushered to the wedding chamber and left to get on with it.

She told her groom that she was not prepared to sleep with him.

He was only too happy to oblige.  She then realised that he was blind so she went to eat the food on offer and tried to escape.

Shan Shao was too quick for her.  He told her is she tries to escape, the guards are going to get her.  She peeped outside and sure enough, guards were patrolling.

She told him that she would not share the bed with him and he agreed with alacrity.

They both fell asleep but Shiqing woke up from a nightmare.  He saw a woman being beaten up; his mother?!!!

Under his bed leads him automatically to his secret chamber where he can turn into Xia Ling, the crusader.

He went out and saw his agent who gave him new information.

He then got back and saw his new missus asleep which rather buggered up the mechanism to his secret chamber as her foot was on the way.

He went near her but she grabbed him in her sleep.  She was dreaming of Xia Ling.  She then pulled him to her for a sleepy kiss.

Meanwhile, in the mountain, Bao Ye could not believe how beautiful his new wife is.  When he was asked to bring her to meet his adopted father, the bandit leader, he was amazed at how lucky Bao Ye was.

Ying Yao made Bao Ye promised later that they were not to sleep together.

He understood and agreed with her.  He was just too happy with his luck.

Episode 3

Ying Yao’s maid servant realised immediately that Shan Shao married the wrong girl because the one sleeping in his room was not the princess.

Wanzi signalled to the girl not to give her away.

The maid took Wanzi somewhere quiet to speak with her.  She realised that the Princess ran away and it this gets found out all of them will be put to death by the Emperor.

So the maid begged Wanzi to pretend to be the princess until they find the real one.  Anyway Shan Shao is blind so he would not know any different.

Wanzi agreed but with one condition, they had to find her father as well.

The maid gave Wanzi a quick course of how to be a princess.  it was quite useful too because Wanzi and Shiqing were going to have a family dinner with his family.

The dinner did not go well because Shiqing said that since he was now married, he would like to move out.

His father was not amused.

Shiqing continued that his mother left him enough money to live on his own.

This enraged his father and started beating Shiqing in accordance with family punishment.

The father beat him so hard Wanzi felt sorry for Shiqing she intervened.

Episode 4

The father wanted a wall tear down but Shiqin refused.  The father was so incensed he slapped poor Shiqing.

As it was getting violent again, Wanzi intervened once more but she was thrown against the wall which dislodged a few bricks.  It would have fallen on her if Shan Shao did not move.

Meanwhile, in the mountains, Bao Ye was so stressed.  Having not really married the princess yet, the bandit leader said that he would like the princess to be part of his harem and would marry Ying Yao himself.

Bao Ye blamed all this to Ying Yao for being so pretty.

Episode 5

Shiqing was beginning to suspect that his bride was not the princess, daughter of the ninth pince,

Wanzi found out the secret chamber from under Shiqing bed leading to the great outside of the manor.  She went through the tunnel and ended up seeing her great crush, Xia Ling fighting with another man.

Wanzi got so excited, she tried to help Xia Ling but she got kicked in the stomach and would have ended prostrate on the ground if Xia LIng did not catch her.

Anyway, because of her the other man got away.

Wanzi was so happy to be in Xia LIng’s arms she pretended that she was so hurt and was unable to They ended up at the Qing Tower where they had a big drink and some spare ribs.

She told him that she was not the princess but someone who got on the wrong wedding carriage.

Now she was married to the stoneface, horrid Shiqing.

When Xia Ling tried to clarify the Shiqing can’t be that bad, Wanzi went on a drunken tirade that Shiqing was even worst in reality.

She also confessed that she was missing her father and then she started crying.

Xia Ling comforted her and said that he will take her flying.  So cute.

Meanwhile, Ying Yao managed to escape her room at the mountain but Bao Ye found her immediately.

She would not go back with him and kept moving backwards until she ended up in a ravine falling with Bao Ye.

Episode 6

Xia LIng gave his black cloak to Wanzi who cherished it so much she carried and hugged it all day long during the next day.

The servants started gossiping about her and her prized cloak.  They said that it was unseemly to be carrying another man’s cloak when married to someone else.

Shiqing was rather happy to see that she was really enamoured with Xia Ling.

Wanzi said that she does not like Shiqing because she only has Xia Ling in her heart.

But when a visitor came, she got jealous when the girl said that she was more or less a school sweetheart of Shiqing.

Shiqing denied it and said that he barely knew the girl.

Meanwhile, Ying Yao was taken back to the mountain hideout by Bao Ye.

He promised her that he will protect her and will not allow the leader to add her to his harem.

Ying Yao said that she had found a solution how to dissuade the leader.

When the leader came to see her to force her to become his latest wife, he found her not as comely as she used to be.

Ying Yao was covered in sores.

The leader could not wait to get out of her room.

Episode 7

Wanzi found out that Shiqing was not blind at all.

Shiqing said that he will give her money, gold, silver, gems to keep quiet.

Wanzi said that she wanted all of that plus he had to become her slaves and do everything she tells him to do.

That was too much for Shiqing so he told her that he will not do that and when Wanzi threatened to tell that he was not blind, Shiqing said go ahead.

He then showed his ace card.  He told her that she was a fake princess and one word to the Emperor’s ear and she and her family will be gone from this world.

Knowing that this was so true, Wanzi immediately turned into a very docile wife.  She then recounted how the marriage with him came about.

meanwhile, Wanzi’s father went to the mountain to look for Wanzi.  At first Bao Ye treated him suspiciously but when he said that he was the father of this bride, he was taken immediately to the princess.  They both got a surprise but the princess immediately came to her senses and explained that his daughter was married off to Mei family, to Mei Shiqing.

The father said that he will go to the Mai manor. The princess told him to tell his daughter that the princess was alright.

Episode 8

Wanzi’s father found out that it was not easy to get out of the bandit’s mountain village.  Bao Ye told him that once you get in, you can’t get out.

What Wanzi’s father did was to make a nuisance of himself including getting drunk and then peeing on the price jar of the fermenting wine of the bandit leader.

Bao Ye thought that he would be in trouble if the father continues to stay.

So he asked a couple of the bandits to bring him down to town.

When Wanzi’s father got to town, the thing he did was to go to the Mei Manor but sadly Wanzi was not at the mansion.

She was actually in town.  She was dining with a man who saved her from almost being trampled by a horse.

It became dark and Shiqing became worried.

As a Xia Ling he saw Wanzi dining with a man.  He then saw the man give Wanzi a token.  The man told her that he was from the chamber of commerce and if she ever needed help, just use the token to find him.

She was still looking at the token when it was snatched from her and threw away by Xia Ling and a bracelet with a little token was quickly fastened on her wrist.  She did not complain.

She was too happy to see Xia Ling.

Episode 9

Wanzi was told by the princess maid that her father had been looking for her.  He said that he will wait for her in town.

She woke up early but so did Shiqing who was guarding her like a hawk and would not let her leave the manor.

But she told him that she will do her chore and learn calligraphy.  Still he would not let her go so she became so annoyed she started throwing things at him and then walk out.

She left the manor and went to see her father with the princess’ maid and the guard.

Her father encouraged her to leave with him and go somewhere far away.

Wanzi said that she can’t leave until they had rescued the princess.

Meanwhile, Shiqing thinking that Wanzi was meeting the man she was dining with went to the chamber of commerce to spy on his wife.  But she realised she did not go meet the man.

That night, Wanzi apologised to Shiqing for her manner that day.  She told him that she will spend the night, not sleeping, but learning her calligraphy.

When he found her later, she was asleep so he tied her hair to something on the ceiling to keep her upright.

But she was too sleepy even to notice an intruder to her room.  It was Bao Ye.  She woke and told her that he was here to get her.  He did not realise that she was not that pretty which incensed her.

Shiqing found her being kidnapped by Bao Ye.  After a long fight, Shiqing prevailed but his father, instead of being proud of him got so mad that Shiqing had been lying about his blindness, he had Shiqing thrown into prison.

Bao Ye had told Wanzi that he was taking her away and married to his stepdad so he stops lusting after Yao ying.

Episode 10

Wanzi and her father got Bao Ye out of the prison cell.  The father then brought him back tot he mountains.

Meanwhile, Wanzi knelt down in front of Shiqing’s father’s manor for a day and a night imploring him to release Shiqing from prison.

Shiqing was released and found Wanzi still kneeling in front of his father’s villa.  He was annoyed that she had to do it after he told her not to.

He then carried her to her room and then saw to her badly bruised knees.

Wanzi can’t helped herself from trying to touch Shiqing’s face which became thin after being in prison and refusing to eat anything.

Episode 11

Wanzi  found out that Shiqing was none other than her idol and man of her dreams, Xia Ling.  Despite unmasking him, and can see for herself that Shiqing was Xia Ling, she refused to believe it because it means she would be in love with Shiqing.

She can’t believe that her arrogant husband was the champion of common people.  He had to remind her what she told him when she thought he was Xia Ling and then she believed.

Then it got so cute.

Wanzi or rather Teresa Li is just so adorable.  Such a good actress.

Anyway, Wanzi can’t help falling a little bit in love with Shiqing.  She had to be reminded by the princess’s maid that Shiqing was out of bounds as he was really married to Princess Ying Yao.

Despite of this, she tried to be nicer to Shiqing but it doesn’t last as he would tease her by making her work hard for her honey.

So cute.

The end of this drama was the confrontation of Bao Ye and Shiqing as the bandits ambushed the merchants.

Episode 12

Bao Ye avoided fighting violently with anyone so he doesn’t have to kill as he promised Ying Yao.

Instead, he left Xia Ling to fight with the merchants who were really bandits pretending to sell silk when they were really bringing in contraband salt.

So while Xia Ling was fighting singlehandedly with the merchant bandits, Bao Ye and his posse ran off with the carts of good and took them to the mountains.

Shiqing was helped by Wanzi, who got slashed with a poisoned sword.

Shiqing had to begged the bandit for the antidote.

The leader was still laughing when Shiqing saw that Wanzi was getting weaker which gave him a renewed vigor and fought of the leader and managed to grab from him the vial of antidote which he gave immediately to Wanzi.

The wounded leader retreated.

Wanzi and Shiqing had to spend the night in the mountains as Shiqing was not wounded.  They huddled up to sleep but Shiqing woke up from the same nightmare of her mother being beaten to death.

As he was only a child, he did not recognise any of the masked men but he saw a wooden  bat that was used to strike his mother.

One of the assailants was Nan Bao Tian.

Meanwhile in the mountains, there was a great celebration for the success of the thievery.  Wine was had and men got drunk.

Wanzi’s father told Ying Yao that it was the best time to escape as the men were weakened by alcohol.

They were about to leave when they heard a small group of men plotting to set Bao Ye up.  They would put a couple of chests of loots in his room and then report him to Nan Ba Tian.

Having heard it, Ying Yao refused to leave because they had to help the drunk Bao Ye from incriminating himself.

The next day, Ying Yao told Bao Ye what they heard and when Nan Ba Tian went to search Bao Ye’s  shack, the loot was not found.

It was found in the house of one of the helpers of who masterminded trying to set up Bao Ye.

Episode 13

Wanzi was upset that she could not really get together with Sicheng because he was really the princess’s husband.

Sicheng seemed able to read her mind and assured her that his heart was already taken by her alone.  Awww

They do have a lot of fun chemistry.  They are so natural.

Meanwhile, Wanzi’s father was more of a father to Ying Yao than to Wanzi.  He stayed in the mountain to protect her.

Ying Yao was falling for Bae He and asked if he wanted to live somewhere else and have a different life.

Episode 14

The Salt Gang wanted to kill or catch the Night Warrior (Xia Ling).

They paid 200 gold taels to Nan Ba Tian to kill the Night warrior.  They would pay an extra 500 gold taels if they catch him alive.

Bao Ye nagged Nan Ba Tian about doing the deal under the condition that he will be allowed to marry Ying Yao if he catches the Night Warrior.

Nan Ba Tian finally gave in.  He agreed.

To lure the Night Warrior, Bao He pretended to be the Night Warrior and created mayhem in town.

Bao He burnt down a shop and intruded in a female bathing house and interfered during children’s painting lessons.
