Episode 1

An epidemic was killing people in a remote village in Myamar.  It also started to  kill some American soldiers who interacted with the Burmese women.

Dr Qin, an undercover agent of NBIS Chongqing Station, happened to be working as a medical doctor with the American soldiers, believed that the virus was caused by Japanese Biomedical virus

They found Ou Xian An who they thought was a Japanese soldier as he was wearing their uniform.  He was infected with the same virus but he seemed unaffected by it though he was in a coma due to bullet wounds.

Dr Qin used him to investigate the virus and to develop a serum as Ou Xian An’s antibodies seemed able to fight off the virus.

She used the serum to herself as she was afflicted by the virus herself.

Dr Qin sent a message to HQ about the virus but not everyone wanted to do anything about it except for Captain Wei who said that they could use the Japanese Cherry Blossom Project as a virus bomb against the Communist.  So it seemed NBIS was already aware of the existence of the virus.

Whoa, covid all over again.
