This drama is the latest of pending Song Yiren ones.

She will be starring opposite Zhang Yao, who played Li Yu in When We Were Young 2018.

The story sounds like it would be one of those cute, fluffy youth romance.  The characters are supposed to be crushes of each other when they were younger.

Love it already, can’t wait.

January 2020 Update:  Apparently the title to this drama had been changed to THE BEST OF YOU ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Episode 1

Lin Xi Chi and Xu Fang were childhood sweethearts.  They first met when they were eight years old.  Xu Fang just moved into a new place with his prosperous parents when he saw a little girl sadly running after a woman dragging a suitcase.

Xu Fang later, learned that the woman was Lin Xi Chi’s mother who separated from her husband.  She was a doctor and worked at Rong City.

Anyway, LIn Xi Chi’s parents had a truce to keep their separation a secret from Chi Chi and her brother.  The mother just told her children that as she was working at Rong City, she had to stay in Rong as it would be impossible for her to commute everyday.

Once in a while, the mother would come back to be the family house and everything seemed normal until one day she found a stocking behind the cushions on the sofa.

As soon as her ex arrived she went mental.  She told him that he was disgusting to bring his women in the house where their children live with him.

Instead of a long visit, her mother left for Rong that same night.

The story behind the stocking:

Poor ChiChi was so upset and feeling guilty because it was all her fault.  The stockings were hers.  She got them because Xu Fang chose it as a penalty for having lost an arm-wrestling to him.  She had to walk around the school with her black stockings on.

She liked it so much she wore them at home as well and she was admiring her shapely legs encased in the stocking when the front door suddenly opened and her mother walked in.

Chi Chi quickly removed the stockings and stuffed them behind the settee and then forgot all about them.

Her mother was cleaning when she found the stocking and went mad thinking that her ex-husband had been bringing women into the house.

Anyway, the mother left and Chi Chi was sad and blamed Xu Fang for it.

She told him that it was all his fault.

It was raining heavily when she got home and found that Fang Fang, their dog had gone missing.

Though she was upset with Xu Fang she went to knock at his house to ask if Fang Fang had wandered in his house.

Xu Fang said that Fang Fang was not inside and he went to help Chi Chi looked for Fang Fang in the rain.  Near where they live, Chi Chi saw her father’s parked car and he was with a woman who he was kissing.

Chi Chi was gutted,  She blamed herself for what happened. She thought that because her mother left early, her father became unhappy and found another woman.

Xu Fang told her that it was not her fault.  Her parents had been separated for ten years.

Chi Chi said that of course it was not her fault.  Becuase it was Xu Fang’s fault.  If only he did not insist on arm-wrestling and then penalising her by making her wear black stockings her parents would have carried on as before.

She told Xu Fang that she does not want to have anymore arm-wrestling with him because she doesn’t want to see him ever again.

Chi Chi got home and started packing her clothes because she can’t live with her father anymore who had been rather “busy” at work that he bought crates of pot noodles for his children’s breakfast and dinner.  She realised what he was being busy from.

Chi Chi took a leave of absence at school. She decided to move in with her grandmother and self-study.

Xu Fang was feeling the guilt as he looked up at Chi Chi studying next to the veranda of her grandmother’s house.

Episode 2

Chi Chi left for Rong University without telling her father and saying goodbye to Xu Fang who she hoped never to see again.

On her first day at uni, she met a handsome guy who is her senior in Veterinary Medicine.  He was very gentle and very kind.

Her dormmates were a couple of really nice girls as well.

She was at orientation when she sort of saw someone familiar but ignored it after a while.

Chi Chi and her roommates were getting to know the environment around the school she she saw a child who was doing archery to win a prize.

Chi Chi helped him thinking that as she had watch Xu Fang practices his archery, she can do it.

But she can’t, until a pair of arms embraced her as he helped her pulled the arrow and shoot.

It was of course Xu Fang, who she was surprised to see in university. She thought he was going to another uni.

They ended up going to dinner and then he challenged her to another arm-wrestling.  He tempted her with a month’s allowance.

Chi Chi had refused the bank card that her father tried to give to her.  Instead she stole her young brother’s secret saving to buy games.

Anyway, she lost the arm wrestling.  This girl is stupid and verging on the annoying.  But Song Yiren is cute so I am still half and half into liking the character just for her.

Anyway, Xu Fang seemed bent on making her suffer because despite knowing she was poor he took all her money in her account and most of those in her wallet, liring her 89 yuan to last her the month.  He also asked her to sign an IOU and to pay for it she will be his slave.

Anyway, her mother had finally shown up.

Chi Chi asked her if she could go to dinner at her house.

Her mother nervously said that she was living in a dorm so it would not be convenient to bring her there.  Instead she promised to visit her at school.

Chi Chi was happy with that for now.

Episode 3

Xu Fang was made the captain of their archery team.  He did not particularly like the role/position but the coach was quite determined in his decision as Xu Fang came highly recommended from his senior.

Chi Chi had some good reason why she did not particularly like to end up to the same university as Xu Fang.

This was because Xu Fang’s kindness towards her was lightly bound in humiliating her.  For instance, knowing that she was rather penniless, he would tease her by asking her what she wanted to eat and would order them.  He then asked her to tell 100 good things about him and at the end of it would only give her the congee and would keep the rest of the food.  He did allow her to finish his half-eaten dinner.  Another them, she got into trouble by a senior who had a crush on Xu Fang.

Xu Fang sent Chi Chi to tell Sister Jing Jing, the senior student body, that Xu Fang was not interested in starting a relationship with her.

Xu Fang and Chi Chi have a love/hate relationship which sometimes can turn violent.  Poor Xu Fang was all bruised and battered when Chi Chi decided to assault him when he humiliated her by refusing to give him his Wechat id.

Li Yang, the fourth girl, which completes their dorm roommates had finally arrived.

I find this drama annoying at the moment, I hope Song Yiren’s Chi Chi will settle down soon.  She is too hyper/overacting.

Episode 4

It spread like wildfire in the university that Chi Chi had a massive crush on Xu Fang and that she had been stalking him despite being turned down by the uninterested Xu Fang.

Chi Chi did not take this kindly and started harassing poor Xu Fang in so many ways.

In the end they did realised that it was really getting ridiculous so they called a truce.

Xu Fang recommemded her to apply for the assistant post for the archery team.

At first, Chi Chi was not interested but she learned from Senior Ye that she could use the extra-curricular activity as a way to get a scholarship, which will pay for her tuition and allowance and also assistant jobs get reasonable remuneration.

She got the job fairly easily and she noticed that Xu Fang was being bullied by the team and by the coach.  She told him though that he should not give up and stay with the team as the captain.

Chi Chi finally met up with her mother in the hospital.  Her mother was very cagey when she brought Chi Chi to her dorm.

Episode 5

Chi Chi called her young brother to tell him that she met their mother.  It seems her brother is more au fair about their parents’ relationship.

Anyway, their father told Xigeng to go see his sister and give her the bank card.

Xigeng went to Rong University to see his sister and at the same time confront the guy who had been humiliating him in the game’s world.

It turned out the guy was a girl and roommate of Chi Chi. She was Li Yang, who told Xigeng to concentrate more on his studies. She then gave him her notes.

Xigeng met Chi Chi and told him that Xu Fang had been doing him a favour to look after Chi Chi and make sure she ate well.  Knowing that Chi Chi would not accept money as a charity, Xu Fang had been making it hard for her to get money off him so she gets challenged.  Xigeng also gave Chi Chi the bank card from their father.

Chi Chi and Senior were locked out in the rooftop while looking after newly born kittens.  Chi Chi called Xu Fang for help.

Xu Fang was there immediately and saw how close Chi Chi had become to Senior Ye.  He also noticed that Chi Chi was wearing the Senior’s jacket so he took it off and gave Chi Chi his own jacket.

Xu Fang finally realised that he feels more for Chi Chi than mere childhood friends.

Zhengxu advised him to treat Chi Chi better and confess to her before someone takes her away.

Episode 6

Kuan Kuan thought that Chi Chi had a crush on him so he had been trying to pursue him.

Xu Fang did not like this and started sabotaging everything Kuan Kuan was trying to do to impress Chi Chi.

It got to the point where Kuan Kuan pointed his bow and arrow at Xu Fang, which was seen by the coach, who immediately confiscated the bow and arrow and told Kuan Kuan to write a resignation letter because he said as an archery member, they should know that it was taboo to point a loaded bow to anyone.

Poor Kuan Kuan burst into tears. He said that he would have not use the arrow.  He was just feeling messed up.

Xu Fang knew that he was partly responsible with how Kuan Kuan was so messed up so he spoke for him with the coach.

Kuan Kuan was so grateful, he told Xu Fang that he would follow everything he says from now on.

Xu Fang said that he had only one thing to ask and that was for Kuan Kuan to leave Chi Chi alone.

Kuan Kuan immediately agreed and had become the best of friends.

The archery team will have their first competition.

Chi Chi had some posters done but the coach dropped Xu Fang from the group because Xu Fang refused to change his stance.

Xu Fang explained to the coach that he was not comfortable with the standard stance and he can’t manage to shoot his arrows in the standard stanch.

The coach was deaf to his excuses and that was that.

Episode 7

The coach did try to help Xu Fang to adapt to the standard stanch.

Xu Fang did try his hardest but to no avail.

He told the coach that he was used to his own style and that to change it suddenly would not work.

Finally, the coach said that Xu fang must do his best to the coming competition.

To start with, the team were doing well but it was not really up to the standard of their opponent.

The final game was a shoot-out between the captains of the team.

After some dramatic moments, Xu Fang was declared the winner and of course Rong University got the award.

Everyone was happy celebrating afterwards.

Even Senior Ye was there In the celebration which really irked Xu Fang.

His best friend told him that he really needed to confess to Chi Chi immediately, otherwise she will be taken by someone else.

With a little help from alcohol, Xu Fang tried to confess to Chi Chi , who was not taking anything he was telling her seriously. until the moment had gone.

Then Senior Ye asked Chi Chi to go on a date.

Chi Chi went to Xu Fang to ask his opinion of how guys like girls.

Xu Fang told her that guys like girls with long hair and who wear white dresses.  He then thought that perhaps Chi Chi was hinting about like him.

Episode 8

Chi Chi put Xu Fang in the right later when Xu Fang saw Chi Chi And Senior Ye coming home from their busy date.

Xu Fang was surprised to see Chi Chi sporting long black hair and wearing a white dress.  In his jealousy, he told Chi Chi that she looked like Sadako, from a Japanese horror movie.

Senior Ye was surprised at the strong feeling from the two but Chi Chi told him that that was nothing new. She had been fighting with Xu Fang since she was a little girl.

Anyway Xu Fang and Chi Chi made up immediately.  Xu Fang invited her to eat her favourite street food.

Later Chi Chi met her mother and they got talking about her father.  Her mother did not really want to talk about him.

This did not stop Chi Chi though to make her mother and father to get talking again. She pretended that she was her mom and messaged her father about their children.

Chi Chi was so shocked how rude the reply of her father was.  She spoke to her brother about it.

He advised her to leave things alone.

Episode 9

It was Chi Chi’s birthday, which she did not really get to celebrate the way she wanted it to but she did a have a good time with Senior Ye and they seemed to be getting closer.

Chi Chi also found out that her mother does not live at the dorm at all as she goes home after her shift.

Her mother found out about this and called Chi Chi’s dad that they may have been rambled.  Still they decided to continue on deceiving their children or at least Chi Chi

Her mother made her believe that she had just moved out of the dorm and completely forgot to tell Chi Chi because it had been frenetic with her job as well as moving house.

Chi Chi still bought it especially when she was promised that her mom will take her out to celebrate her birthday.

Poor Xu Fang completely missed Chi Chi’s birthday despite waiting for her in front of her dorm for ages.

Anyway, part of Senior Ye’s birthday present for Chi Chi was a part-time employment to a pet shop/veterinary.  She was so happy about it to start with but quickly realise that she would not be handling animals at all but would spend all her time washing and cleaning cages.  Then the manager of the pet shop seemed to have it for her.  She was always scolding her until Chi Chi had had enough and walk out.

Episode 10

Chi Chi finally found out who gave her the gift.  It was not Senior Ye as she thought but it was actually Xu Fang.

Episode 11

Chi Chi was not having the best day.  First she was humiliated by Senior Ye’s father and mother when they found her chasing a dog she was bathing in the pet shop.

Then when she got back to her dorm, she found that mug given to her by Xu Fang laid broken on the floor.

Chi Chi’s mother had yet again canceled a family bonding for the new year break for the family.

She found out later that her mom had a new family with a new daughter and actually been divorced from her father for ten years.

Chi Chi felt betrayed and unwanted.  Her mother would rather live with another family that be with her and her brother.

She ran off in despair.

Xu Fang who was on his way to a training camp got a call from Chi Chi’s dad wanting to know if he had seen Chi Chi.

There and then Xu Fang left his team to go looking for Chi Chi.

Chi Chi realised that Xu Fang was the one constant person in her life so when he called to find out where she was she told him.

He found her singing her heart’s out in a karaoke bar.  He did not know whether to struggle her or beat her at first but then when he looked into her face, all he can see was the eight-year-old little girl imploring her mother not to leave her.

Xu Fang felt for her.

Chi Chi was so drunk so Xu Fang took her to a hotel to sober her up.

Episode 12

Xu Fang took Chi Chi back to their hometown for the new year before he went back to training.

Chi Chi and her father had an uneasy truce.

She learned though that her young brother had always known that there was something amiss with their parents’ relationship and had protected her from it,

Episode 13

Zidan was taking her frustrations and jealousy out of Chi Chi because Xu Fang would not return her feelings.

Chi Chi told this to Xu Fang who told her to fight back and when did she become such a coward?

Xu Fang initiated a truce between Chi Chi and her mother.  Although he told her that it was entirely up to her if she wanted to forgive her mother.

Episode 14

Chi Chi had her heart to heart talk with her mother.  Chi Chi told her that her mother was not there when she needed her, when she was growing up.  She is now independent and she does not think she would miss her mother that much.  Therefore, she can’t forgive her.

And so she finally got the courage to get her revenge against Xudan for breaking the mug Xu Fang gifted her for her birthday.

She realised though that Xu Fang is important to her. In fact she had fallen for him.

So when Senior Ye finally confessed to her that he likes her, she had to turn him down because she likes someone else.

When Senior Ye asked if it was Xu Fang.

She was not coy about it and admitted it.

Episode 15

Her brother came to Rong City to see what was happening to his sister after she sort of told him that she liked Xu Fang.

It was Xu Fang’s birthday.

As a present, he and Chi Chi are officially in a relationship.

Cute episode.
