This should be good. I hope Riley Wang’s character is not the same with his drama I Hear You and Long For You He was much too aloof in both dramas that he was almost one-dimensional. His character is so wooden, you wanted to shout, ‘timberrrr’
I have seen him really animated and goofy in Attention, Love and he was absolutely adorable in it.
Having said that, I am particularly excited about this drama because he is paired with the adorable Wan Peng of When We Were Young (2018)

Episode 1
Omg. as can be expected from Wang Pen, this first episode is so funny and endearing. Riley Wang is so cute as well.
Anyway, Xiong Yifan used to go to the same high school as Yanke. Despite this, they are not acquainted with each other or at least he was not aware of Yifan but she had always fancied him.
Yifan is a javelin athlete in high school and known for strength and agility so she was a bit of a tomboy.
As luck would have it, they got admitted to the same college so Yi Fan decided to be ladylike wear high heels and a beautiful red dress on the first day of school and confess her love to Yan Ke who was doing a piano recital during orientation.
She was ready and prepared and was about to speak when she noticed a banner in front of the stage was about to fall.
Everyone was distracted by it as well. Yifan more so. She took off one of her heels and flung it into the falling banner which flew into the fire sprinkle which then activated it and soaking everyone.
But it did not stop there because the banner and stilleto then fell off straight into Yan Ke’s head.
Poor Xiong Yifan was mighty embarrassed because she became infamous overnight at Suhua University. They joke that she is armed and dangerous with heels.
She apologised to Yan Ke who seemed okay with it.
Yifan was pleasantly surprised when she and Yanke were tasked to be the monitors for their class during Sport’s Day.
With her strength and prowess, her class started calling her the queen.
And she became more so when she was partnered with YanKe for the three legged race. Along the way, they fell into the ground but this did not stop Yi Fan.
Yifan quickly undid their joint harness. She the hefted him in her shoulder a la fireman’s lift, and raced into the finish line. Everyone was in awe.
Unfortunately, along the way, Yanke dropped his most treasured candy box.
He was rather upset that he can’t find it. Yifan realised that it was important to him so she went looking as well and in the bins.
It was dark when she found him lying defeated on the ground.
She gave him the candy box which cheered him up.
They were walking back to the dorms when a runaway ball cart almost plowed into them if Yifan did not stop it.
Yanke noticed the name Qi Xiaosong printed on the back of her shirt.
Yanke suddenly became very animated and wanted to know if she’s got any brothers.
She said she was an only child.
It looks like he had a crush on her in high school when she was a tomboy with short hair.
A Qi Xiaosong used to protect Yanke from bullies in high school.
Intriguing.
Episode 2
Xiong Yifan is throwing herself into university life. Her extra-curricular activities are hectic. She is into everything including leading a choir.
Yanke is confused about his sexuality.
Despite being attracted to Yifan, he could not help but pine for the ‘boy – Qi Xiaosong’ in high school.
He got a shock when he saw Yifan dressed as a boy. He can’t get to get away from her because he was not sure whether he like girl Yifan or boy Yifan.
The experience during high school must have traumatised him to the point where he remembered the feeling but not the clear face of the boy anymore.
A boy at Yifan’s dorm announced that a new gym had opened near the university and they were giving away 25% discount.
Yifan was not interested at first until he saw the business card regarding the gym. It was run by Qi Xiaosong.
It is the same Qi Xiaosong from high school because Yi Fan and Ding Ming were there to see him.
Yan Ke who came to the gym just missed Qi Xiaosong but he was told that he went to the basketball court.
Yan Ke missed them but he did not give up. He went to look around until he ended up by the bus stop.
As luck would have it, someone, Ding Ding called Qi Xiaosong name.
Yanke not wanting to missed the elusive Qi Xiaosong called his name as well.
The real Qi Xiaosong popped his head out from the bus and so did Yifan.
Episode 3
Yan Ke first saw Qi Xiaosong by the station waiting for a bus to school. They all wore their mustard tracksuit uniform.
Yan Ke was rather annoyed that Yi Fan was too familiar with his girlfriend. Touching her, feeding her.
Yan Ke was a transfer student and was wary of the unfamiliar crowd. He would have purposely missed the bus if Yifan did not hold on to him to drag him inside the vehicle.
The next time they saw each other was when Yi Fan overheard the other boys at the changing room bullying the new transferee.
Yi Fan went kicking and punching saving Yan Ke. Yanke assumed that she was Qi Xiaosong as she was wearing Qi Xiaosong jacket with his name.
Anyway from then on they Yanke and Yifan were best buddies until something happened.
Qi Xiaosong Yifan and Dingding were thick as thieves. They were childhood friends and very inseperable.
Qi Xiaosong was rather worried that he will not get into the same university as Yifan, who he calls his boss.
But Yifan said she had thought of a solution. He could either open a gym or barbecue booth near the university.
In high school, Yanke wanted to study music but his father was against it because music won’t feed you. He was still very upset with his father’s dictatorial attitude when he remembered to meet Yi Fan at the school building rooftop.
It was raining when he got there but all the same he appreciated the decoration and cake Yifan prepared for his birthday.
Suddenly there was thunder and lightning. It surprised Yifan, she moved to Yanke.
Yanke did not move at first but he shouted at Yifan for what he was doing. Obviously Yanke was shocked because he felt something for Yifan, who he thought then was a boy.
At present, it still shocks him because he even asked Yifan for her real name which puzzled her friends.
Qi Xiaosong, Yifan were celebrating Ding Ding’s birthday. Yifan got a bit drunk. At the first opportunity, she went to find Yanke and gave him a kiss.
Episode 4
Back in high school again. Yanke was about to go to Beijing and Yifan was leaving for training. They did not have a closure instead Yifan dropped a tin of sweets which became Yanke’s most treasured possession.
To the present, YanKe bought a buy one get one free driving lessons for him and Yifan. Yanke was actually a learned driver already while Yifan was a novice.
The driving instructor and Yifan stressed each other so it was left to Yanke to show Yifan the basic.
The next day, Yanke hired a car so he could teach Yifan to drive. Yanke told her that he was going to drive and just watch what was he doing.
Unfortunately, they run into an animal, Yanke tried to not hit the animal but in so doing he crashed the car and had a burst tire. Both their mobile was not working so they had to walk miles until they reach the house of an old lady who was so hospital to the point of being creepy.
The lady thought that Yanke and Yifan were a young married couple so she made them share a bed. Yanke and Yifan were only to happy to be together because the woman was scary.
Anyway, they were not harmed and got back to school the next day.
Episode 5
Yifan and Bai Yuze had a very memorable first meeting.
Yifan was putting on her lipstick when Yuze bumped into her and her hair got caught in the strap of his backpack. It took ages to untangle her hair as she does not want him to touch her so she had to do it herself.
He made her go with him to his class while she was separating her hair from his bag. This meant she was late for her own class.
Yanke and Yifan went to see a movie. It was The Pianist.
While watching, each was remembering their past.
Yi Fan recalled that she went to the cinema alone as both her friends were unavailable. She saw Yanke in the cinema with a date. She tried to follow them but her ticket was for another film.
Yanke was thinking about the ‘boy’ he liked in high school. He was watching the boy throw a javelin and he realised that his heart was beating fast. With a quick search, he found out that he was falling in love with the boy…
When Yanke got back to the dorm, he was asked how the film was but he can’t really say whether it was good or not because he was too busy thinking about Yifan, whether he should make a move or not. In the end, they were both shy.
Episode 6
Bai Yuze is studying photography at the university. He is a very talented photographer that some of his work are already on display.
Bai Yuze is a stunning man and knows it. This made him a bit of a womaniser. He moves on from girl to girl. He does not discriminate.
He bedded a woman who was about to get married. He then thought of Yifan as his new target.
They met again when she accidentally got her skirt caught in a wire which at first she did not notice that the stitches are unraveling. Yuze then approached her with a ball of thread still attached from her skirt. He then removed his jacket and tied it on her waste to preserve her modesty. Wow lol.
When Yifan asked how she was going to return the jacket?
He confidently told her that he will find her.
And he found her again immediately. He then said to take him she had to take him to lunch.
At the university canteen, all the girls were going agog about Yuze (Who wouldn’t) especially with a grain of rice just above his delicious top lip.
It so happened that Yan Ke was just coming to the canteen and overheard the girls, all excited. Then he saw Yifan smiling at Yuze and picking the grain off his face.
This gave Yan Ke the push to confess to Yifan.
That night, he was going to text her his confession but heard his roommate sobbing while watching a romance drama. His roommate said that he was so affected by the confession of the male lead. It was apparently so moving.
This made Yan Ke reconsider sending a confession text.
Instead, he wrote a note, “Xiong Yifan, I like You.” He then inserted a note to a vocabulary book which he gave to Yifan. He told her to read every page to the end.
Yifan was over the moon and treated the book as priceless, she kissed it but dare not open the pages as she wanted to preserve it. It so happened that Ding Ming got a freebie vocabulary book which she gave to Yifan.
Yifan used this book to study while the one given to her by Yanke was displayed in a pride of place in her bookshelf.
That night, Yanke was waiting for her text or call regarding her confession but she did not reply.
The next day, Yanke looked for her in the library and excitedly asked what she thought of the note?
Thinking that he made some study notes in the book, she said that it was not really for her.
Yanke asked her whether the things she had been doing to him previously were all fake.
Despite not really understanding what he was asking, Yifan apologised to him profusely.
Poor Yanke was so dejected.
Episode 7
Yanke tried being cold with Yifan but he can’t just do it especially when Yuze seemed to be buzzing around her all the time.
So Yanke changed his tactic when he had an accident, he pretended that he was more hurt that he was. Yifan was so worried about him and insisted in looking after him.
Yuze was smirking at Yanke’s dramatics.
Episode 8
This is a lovely episode.
OMG. Yuze is delicious! He is gorgeous. I hope he gets a drama as lead with Wang Pen because they have loads of chemistry. His sexiness is perfect with her natural girl next door beauty.
Yifan is always a tomboy. She even helped Yifan moved to his new apartment carrying heavy boxes as if they were feathers.
But she thought that she needed to change her image a bit to be more feminine.
She went to a shopping centre and observed how girls walk and copied them.
It so happen that Yuze was at the centre and told her that if she wanted to be girly then he will help her.
He took her to his studio and gave her a lovely dress and took beautiful photos of her which ended into Yanke’s mail box.
He was so jealous that Yifan was with Yuze.
The next day in class, Yifan turned up in a similar dress in the photo shoot. She asked if Yanke likes the photos and the dress.
Yanke told her that it does not suit her and that rather poured water into her enthusiasm and confidence.
She was very down when Yuze found her.
She said that Yanke did like her photos.
To cheer her up, Yuze took her to play billiard. They had a fun and some sexy moments.
He asked her why she likes Yanke when he looks down on her.
Yifan said that she just like Yanke.
Again, Yuze said why not other guys?
Yifan was shocked at first but she asked back, “what other guys?”
Yuze looked at her seductively and said, “Me. …I am a good guy”…..

Episode 9
Poor Yanke failed to impress the judges of his Chopin piece because he played it different from how it should be. (Don’t really know how as it sounded good to me. LOL). Yanke played the piece thinking of dark thoughts of Yifan with Yuze.
Anyway his group was hoping he could impress the judges but no can do. They did not only lose the competition, they also lost their practice room to a rock band. This ended in a fight.
Yifan heard of it and rushed to the clinic with Yuze giving her lift.
At first, Yan Ke was glad to see her but then he saw YuZe and he went cold again.
Yifan baked him egg tarts and gave him a taking teddy with her message to him which made him happy.
Yifan received a bouquet of flowers and thought they were from Yanke asking her to meet in the seaside.
When she got there the person who showed up was Yuze, who told her to spend the day with him as it was his birthday.
They did have a lovely time and she was even tempted to kiss him for a while.
Then the next morning, Yanke asked to have breakfast with her.
Ding MIng got the apprenticeship at Bai studio.
She saw Yuze being very intimate with another woman.
Yuze said in an interview that he is not a playboy, he just want to make everyone happy. He then said that the longest relationship he had ever had was one night.
What a cad! A gorgeous, sexy cad!
Episode 10
Yan Ke and Yifan attained the first part of their dreams. They both won their respective competition.
Why is Ding Ming stalking YuZe?!!!
Episode 11
Yanke and Yifan are getting on so well then there is a new girl called Tang Tang who was in Yanke’s life who warned Yifan to back off as like in idol dramas, the beautiful one always gets the man.
Episode 12
Yi Fan was upset that Yanke blew her out in favour of Tang Tang. He opted to go to Tang Tang rather than make good on his promise to stay with her and enjoy the Christmas party.
Then the next day, it was all over the net how Yan Ke looked so good with Tang Tang.
Strangely, Yanke wanted to make it up with Yi Fan by going to a meteor shower with her by bringing Tang Tang with him! What is this boy thinking? A threesome? Whoa!!!
All the gang turned up including YuZe. It then became riotous with Ding Ming seeing YuZe naked. He must be well endowed because Ding MIng can’t control her feeling for him anymore. LOL
Yanke seemed undecided about who he likes. Every time he was put into a situation that he had to choose between Yifan and Tang Tang, he would be dubiously undecided which upsets Yi Fan obviously.
Episode 13
I just have to say that Wu Hankun is absolutely gorgeous. Of course, Riley Wang as well but YuZe is oozing sex appeal.
I supposed if Yi Fan gets the hots for YuZe, this will no longer be called First Romance, the drama. LOL
I must say Yi Fan went to university not to study. She hardly attends class or even open a book. Tsk tsk tsk.
Someone uploaded Yi Fan’s photo when she was in high school and looking like a boy. Suddenly she becomes a topic of gossip for being a transexual.
The culprit was Xue Lin, Yifan’s dorm mate who was so jealous of her because the two hunks of the university were after Yi Fan.
Episode 14
Yifan’s controversial issue of being a transgender had been resolved after some hilarious very gay collaboration between Yanke and Yuze.
Xue Lin had been revealed as the one behind the photos of tomboy Yifan being posted on Wechat.
Tang Tang helped as well as she slapped Xue Lin for what she did because she involved Tang Tang by framing her as the one who posted the photos.
Yanke confessed to Yifan that he like her whether she had been a boy or now a girl.
