Episode 1

Three hapless friends found themselves inside a dystopian game.

They won the first game.  The prize was a three-day visa.  Meaning they can rest up for three days before another game commences.

Episode 2

Karube convinces Arisu to proceed to the next game earlier than their 3-day visa without Segawa Chota who was injured.

They came into a building where they had to play a deadly game of tag with a gun-toting horse-masked killer.

Arisu and Karube met many players including a very limber, Usagi Yuzuha who was an experienced mountain climber.

Many died but still Arisu and Karube survived with Usagi and others.  They realised that there were at least two gun-toting killers and they were defeated.  But when they unmasked them, they saw that they were also just forced to play the game.  They have an explosive ‘necklace’ a la Battle Royale.

Episode 3

Arisu kept remembering what Usagi said that she was willing to do anything to survive.

Saori was surprised to see Arisu and Karube return to Segawa.

Anyway, they don’t have much time to waste so they enter the next game.

The game is Wolf hunting.  Ultimately, the wolf lives while the lambs die.

In the end, Arisu was the wolf so Karube, Segawa and Saori as lambs die.  Their head blew up because of their controlling necklace bomb.

Episode 4

Arisu was so heartbroken he had almost lost the will to go on.  Usagi found him collapsed on the street.  She sympathized with him as she felt the same when her father died from mountain climbing.

Their next game was to run miles. They found other players on a bus.  They run for miles until they became prey to a super strong and agile black panther.

Arisu decided to go back to the bus to save someone who can’t walk.  Usagi ended up returning to the bus as water began to overflow in the tunnel.

They just got on the bus just in time and everything settled. They found out that the bus was not only the start of the game, it was also the endgame.

Episode 5

Arisu and Usagi ended up at the Beach and it seemed it is the way back home and to normality but with a price.
