A long lost princess had to marry someone else for political reasons instead of her beloved boyfriend.

Episode 1

While the empire was in chaos, the imperial city is only interested in wine, women, and games. Brothels and restaurants are booming everywhere.

Tian Xiang Lou restaurant is a popular eatery in Hang Zhou.  It is owned by Song Wu Sao who has an adopted daughter Song Yu Di, who had become a real beauty and the best chef in town.

Song Wu Sao has also a foster son, Li Ma, who had just come back from a long training from Kung Fu.

Song Wu Sao expects Li Ma will be marrying Yu Di in the soonest possible time.

She said that after the two had married, she will retire and give Tian Xiang Lou to them to run while she looks after their babies.

She really wanted them to tie the knot immediately because she was scared that Li Ma would be recruited to join the army in the borders and would be away for years.

Zhao Yuan Qing had come to Hang Zhou with his guards.  He came incognito.

They were looking at the market town when Zhao Yuan Qing asked his minion what was the difference between the Imperial City and Hang Zhou.

Wang Ji Xian replied that the Imperial City has YaMen (harem) while Hang Zhou has brothels.

Zhao Yuan Qing wanted a game of football and challenged the best players in town. He did not expect that the best players were women, headed by Yu Di and two other servants at Tian Xiang Lou.

`Yu Di and the girls were surprised that they lost and their penalty was to cook a feast for Zhao Yaun Qing and his posse.

Zhou Yuan Qing seemed to have developed an immediate attraction to Yu Di.

Episode 2

Yuan Qing has a crush on Yu Di. and her recipe, she is such a pretty good cook.

Yuan Qing is a prince incognito.

His personal chef challenged Yu Di’s mother ot a cooking contest.

It was a good contest but the prince’s cook is sneaky and said that the recipe ‘Mother’ cooked though taste brilliantly doesn’t have the scent of heaven and therefore they should change the name of their restaurant as it was aobviously a false kind of advertisement.

Mother said to YuDi that she will have to sort it out and she did by cooking fishballs enclosed in an orb which when burst gives off a most heavenly aroma.

Meanwhile, Li Ma was approached by the son of their landlord who said that his father was addicted to gambling and owned a lot of money including to Merchant Sun who wanted the land where their restaurant was.

Episode 3

After secretly questioning his mother, he found out that they don’t have a deed to the land but the landlord owned money to Mother and her husband.  The landlord left an IOU note which Mother forgotten where she put it.

Now, Li Ma was thinking of joining the border patrol to get the money for the land but this would mean leaving Yu Di for now.

Episode 1 – 2

Only the first two episodes and the dramas and angst are already aplenty.

Chu Ni, Zhi Zhi and Xiao Xiao are best friends.

Xiao Xiao was an architect who just got fired because of a mistake she had nothing to do with.  She submitted her plans for a bid to a new art gallery, but her boss binned it immediately.

The janitor was being paid by an industrial spy, who took all the rubbish from the offices.

Shi Guang worked for an up and coming architecture film which paid the janitor for the rubbish.  He was the one who found the drawings of Xiao Xiao amongst the smelly thrash.

He copied the text by Xiao Xiao almost word for word that went with her drawing. He then improved on her plan and their firm ended up winning the commission.

Unfortunately, Xiao Xiao’s boss thought that she was secretly collaborating with the other firm because their drawings and summation were almost the same as Xiao Xiao.

Xiao Xiao cannot really give an explanation of how it had happened.

Xiao Xiao was still upset when she went to lunch with Chuni and Zhizhi.

Chuni announced over lunch the Old Qiao was finally making an honest woman of her and not only that she was three months pregnant.  He gave her a diamond ring.

Poor Zhi Zhi was upset but she can’t let her friends know how upset she was.

Zhi Zhi seemed to have a secret life that her friends did not know about.  It looked like Zhi Zhi had a relationship with Old Qiao, she was his mistress, the reason his first wife got so depressed and committed suicide.

She finally gave Old Qiao the heave-ho and told him that Chuni is a good woman and not to let her down. she deserves love.

Old Qiao looked at Zhi Zhi rather regretfully, he said to her that she should have not introduced Chuni to him.

During the lunch, Xiao Xiao felt nauseous and they said she might be pregnant as well.

Xiao Xiao went to get testest for pregnancy.  She was with the baby’s father, Jian Fang.

The doctors asked them if there was a history of epilepsy in their family.

It turned out that Jiang Fang had which had troubled their family for a generation.

Jiang Fang broached the subject of abortion to Xiao Xiao which shocked her to the core.  She was even willing to break up with Jiang Fang and looked after the baby herself. Her mother was also against the idea of raising an epileptic child.

But not as demented as Jiang Fang’s mother and father who came to visit Xiao Xiao and her mother.  Jiang Fang’s mother was hysterical, forcing Xiao Xiao to get an abortion pronto.

Such were their bad behaviour that Xiao Xiao’s mother finally told Xiao Xiao that although she was against the idea, she will support her daughter.

Old Xiao brought Chuni to meet his mother.  She was a little daunted how big Old Xiao mansion was.  Then she met Si Chun, the 15 year old daughter of Old Xiao, who started being nasty to her, which was overheard by his mother, who was against his marriage with a coquette.

Old Xiao told his mother that Xiao Xiao is not a coquette, she is pregnant with his child.

His mother said he was a sinner.

Anyway, Si Chun heard the argument between her father and grandma.

She then told his father that she would like to study high school in America as soon as possible.

At first he would not agree but she made up her mind.

At the airport, his daughter would not even look at him before she checked in.

it was his wedding to Chuni.

Episode 3 – 4

Chuni had married Old Xiao.  After a few months, she had the baby.  She has a very uneasy relationship with her domineering mother-in-law.  She was getting so much grief from her because she kept firing the servants and Chuni ended up doing the chores.  Chuni is missing Tingting, her secret daughter.  Her father would not like her to reveal the existence of Tingting to her husband and his family.

Chuni does not get much support from her husband who was having some work problems and much too busy and too tired to listen to domestic affairs.

Meanwhile, Xiao Xiao had also married. Despite his parents opposing the union, he went ahead anyway and they also had the baby, but after just a year, their relationship is full of tension, mostly because of money.

Looking after their child not only costs a lot of money but attention as well.

Xiao Xiao tried to find a better paying job than serving in a coffee shop but she was turned down when she said in the interview that she cannot spend days away because she has a child.

As to Zhi Zhi, she was hopeful of a new relationship but found out what he really thought of her behind her back.  She had a friend though who looks after her and care for her and they had the most hilarious relationship.  He is Mao Damao, who was very metrosexual, to the point that he appears rather girly at times.

Episode 5 – 6

Jian Feng and Xiao Xiao always ending up fighting whenever they were together.  So much so that Jian Feng had taken to confiding to Kanglan, sister of Old Qiao who is his student.

Jian Feng’s mother is as annoying as her character in Ever Night 1 & 2 as Aunt Quni

Xiao Xiao has been offered to send her resume to JK.

She was visited by Chunni who was rather upset.  She said that she saw Zhi Zhi and her husband eating lunch.

Xiao Xiao said that it was only natural they were in business together.

Chunni, however, said that it was different, they were eating oysters.

Again Xiao Xiao, said it was normal.

But Chunni cannot be dissuaded. She said that she has a woman’s intuition.

That night, Chunni asked her husband why he married her.

Old Xiao said because she was very suitable wife material.

She then asked if he loves her.

He did not say anything but to turn off his bedside light as a signal to sleep.

Poo Xiao Xiao relationship with her husband is getting worse.

He told her that she was not quite middle age yet and yet she was as sour as a middle age woman.

Kanglan had asked her brother, Old Qiao to give the vacant position in the company for the design manager to JianFeng.

Old Qiao was not very enthusiastic about the idea at first but Kanglan said that if he wanted her to work for his company then he had to give the job to JianFeng.

JianFeng got the job and excitedly went to tell Xiao Xiao about it.

Xiao Xiao said that she was against the idea because his strength is not in design but in research.  It is better for him to stay on in the university and publish a couple more academic books.

Jian Feng started arguing with her and she with him as what had became with them lately.

Quick Precis

This drama is about infidelity within a marriage.  Can they get pass it?!!

Episode 1-2

Su Ran is an eye surgeon who had been away from her husband and son for six months for further study.

When she came back everything seemed to be the same in the surface.  Mingqi, her husband of 15 years seemed happy to see her.  But there were little changes that surprised her.  For a starter, he had acquired a new car and the music on the car was not the usual classical she preferred.

When they got from back the airport, they found their apartment ransacked.  She then found out from the police that the burglary occurred during the previous night and therefore her husband had not been home.

She trusted her husband implicitly so when he told her that he was wining and dining a client and had drunk too much he stayed in a hotel, blah blah blah.  She believed this.

She decided to surprise her husband at his work one lunchtime.  Noticing that there was another woman in Mingqi’s office, her husband’s associate did his best to distract her and keep her away until the ‘other woman’ left.

Their son has been staying with his grandmother, Mingqi convinced Su Ran to let their son stay another night as they will be going out that night to celebrate their fifteen wedding anniversary.

They were having a lovely time,  he gave her a pearl necklace to go with her jade one.  They were dancing cheek to cheek when his mobile phone rang incessantly.  Su Ran encouraged him to answer it.  It was the ‘other woman’.  She lied to Mingqi that she had been robbed and attacked and she wanted him to rescue her.  Mingqi had no choice because the other woman has been acting strangely.  She was the type to make a scene if she doesn’t get what she wanted.

He left Su Ran in the restaurant telling her to wait for him there as he was not going to be long, he was just going to sort out a problem with a client.

But of course, the other woman, Hua Sha, did everything to delay Mingqi.  She scratched herself badly to look pathetically pitiful.  Mingqi stayed with her and stood up his wife.

Episode 3

Su Ran was beginning to suspect that there was something going on between Mingqi and the woman called Hua Sha when she checked the call history of his mobile phone.

As a damage limitation, Mingqi confessed that he became rather friendly with Hua Sha but there is nothing untoward that is happening.

Su Ran was just beginning to forgive Mingqi but she found a new mobile phone hidden in the car.  It was ringing and there was a wallpaper of Mingqi and Hua Sha looking very intimate.

SuRan was so shocked that she crushed the car and got a mild concussion.

SuRan told Mingqi to get out and she will be divorcing him.

Suran suffers from OCD, where is constantly washes her hands.

Episode 4

Mingqi really can’t get over the fact that her husband slept with someone else.  It was really a one-night stand?  It seems Mingqi is more attracted to Hua Sha than he was prepared to admit.

Despite his wife having found out about his affair, he continued to go to Hua Sha whenever she was in trouble.

I supposed he finds that they have plenty more in common

Episode 5

Su Ran had had the last straw.  She found Mingqi’s jumper with lipstick on, when he said he was going to see his mother.

She was like a woman possessed, which is natural for someone grieving from adultery, she disinfected the whole house.

She asked him to sign the divorce paper but he refused. So she packed her bags and left.
