BEEF STEAK INGREDIENTS:

  • beef sirloin,  sliced thinly
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 7  pieces calamansi or 1 piece lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large white onion, sliced into rings
  • 3 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 cup water

PROCEDURES:

1. Prepare the beef.  My mother used to make the most melt in the mouth bistek.  She used to tenderise the beef before proceeding with the recipe.  To tenderise the beef, she would pound the meat.

2  She would  Marinade beef in soy sauce, calamansi or lemon and ground black pepper not less than 30 minutes.  She ensured that the meat was well covered with the marinade.

3.  Next, she heats the  oil in a pan then add the garlic, then the marinated beef (without the marinade) until they turn brown.

4. Pour the marinade and add water, boil,  lower down the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until meat is tender.

5. Add the white onions and cook for another minute.

Enjoy with hot boiled rice.

6. Ready to serve.
